I agree with Mr. French on most things regarding this particular post! But why is it that certain people "tout" their clubs races as the best, encourage everyone to attend blah blah blah yet when the races do happen if you are not there participating or in the "so called loop" you are "s-it out of luck. Now fellows some of us for various reasons cannot always make these races, but we would still like to read the results! With Loch Haven, a few days away I'm sure or should I say am positive the results will be posted in a timely manner!

Records
Hey Doc, I enjoyed talking to you and your friends on saturday night. They seem like good friends to travel with. As far as records, Amy set two records in Yelm two years ago and Michael set one of his own all the same weekend. Last year Logan set a record on saturday had someone break it the second heat then logan rebroke that on sunday. Enjoy the records, you worked hard for them!. Tell your friend thanks for the toy boat he gave Amy.

850ccH Record
On Sunday, Rich Welch drove my Giles FEH boat with Tim Kurcz "Kestrel" OMC triple to set a new APBA FEH (850MH) 3 mile competition record on the 3/4 mile - 4 lap course at the 2010 Dayton record run.
It took team effort because Rich fell out of the boat Saturday after hitting a wake during the 1 mile attempt, taking a 90+ MPH swim. The boat had a 6" X 10" hole in the right sponson and the deck had separated from the hydraulic pressure. The gearcase skeg was bent and cracked, and it was found the powerpack failed. Tim drove the parts down early Sunday; we repaired and tested the engine, after which Jason Dirksen repaired the boat with the wood that Doc Miller brought down to us. so with the plywood, epoxy, screws, and Ductape the boat was fixed. Thankfully FEH was the last flight of the day or we never would have made the gun.
The five minute epoxy was barely cured an hour later when Rich drove the first of two flawless starts. Driving over the windshield (out of boat) his pace was within 1.67 seconds.
We suggested a driving position change for heat two: Tucking his helmet under the windscreen, the results were immediate. To our relief, boat attitude settled and Rich was on pace the first lap. Having passed Jeremy in the first turn, with clean water and almost no wind, Rich flogged the course shaving 3.66 seconds and adding a little over 1.5 MPH to the record - average lap speed a tick over 70 MPH.
