Gosh even without the racing this brings back memories. I remember a CSH race at Pateros Washington in like 87 or 88 the wind was howling and it was really choppy. For 2 1/2 laps all 8 boats were cruising at half throttle side by side with the unspoken thought, "if you want it go ahead and wipe out." Finally after we came out of the last corner all of us side by side kind of figured "it's now or never," and hit the throttle at the same time and went for it. They black flagged the course after that heat for the rest of the day. I don't remember who won but I don't think anyone really cared. It is one of those memories you never forget.
Anyway, I just heard someone fire up a Yamato, from the sound of it. I will continue making my rounds of the pits. The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible.

Cool beans. Thanks. I am walking and talking remembering all of thegood old days. I can't believe how much the sport has changed and stayed the same. The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible.

Even though it was called on the weather the plus, for me, is I was able to walk through the pits and talk to many racers about the sport without the sense of urgency needing to get ready for their heat. Definately sucked that the races were called. The names, faces, and boats may have changed but it's still the same group of guys I remember 20 years and 3000 miles ago.The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible.

lock haven question
Hey guys sorry u didn't get any racing in. I am a huge fan of boat racing and I am planning on coming up Sunday to watch. Is the wind supposed to calm down and r the races still starting at 10:00. I have a 3 hour drive and don't want to miss the action. I have been coming to lock haven on and off for 20 plus yaers. My aunt used to have a restaurant where you guys pit now.
