  • I am still on my way and the weather is not looking too promising.

      • Gosh even without the racing this brings back memories. I remember a CSH race at Pateros Washington in like 87 or 88 the wind was howling and it was really choppy. For 2 1/2 laps all 8 boats were cruising at half throttle side by side with the unspoken thought, "if you want it go ahead and wipe out." Finally after we came out of the last corner all of us side by side kind of figured "it's now or never," and hit the throttle at the same time and went for it. They black flagged the course after that heat for the rest of the day. I don't remember who won but I don't think anyone really cared. It is one of those memories you never forget.

Anyway, I just heard someone fire up a Yamato, from the sound of it. I will continue making my rounds of the pits.

I'm a little rusty in terms of memory but I thought the max per class was 12 or something like that so will there be a heat A, B. And C?

                        • Even though it was called on the weather the plus, for me, is I was able to walk through the pits and talk to many racers about the sport without the sense of urgency needing to get ready for their heat. Definately sucked that the races were called. The names, faces, and boats may have changed but it's still the same group of guys I remember 20 years and 3000 miles ago.
