I received the following mail this AM from Mike Johnson (aka 'Cameraboy'). As you may know, Ken Kaiser is a frequent visitor at Hydroracer, and posts under the name of "39R".
--------------------------------------
As some of you already know, three members of the Kaiser family (Ken, Becca, and Jared) were involved in a single vehicle rollover accident just south of Othello on Hwy 17 early Sunday morning on their way to the race at Moses Lake.
Ken suffered a cracked sternum (that's the center of the ribcage) and numerous scrapes and bruises (including a doozy of a black eye). Jared suffered a severe scalp laceration and a broken upper arm. Becca was uninjured except for some bruises. She got her family out of the truck and got help.
Jared was airlifted to Spokane so that a pediatric surgeon could sew up the wound. The surgery went well, and Jennifer was able to talk to him by phone afterwards. Ken will be laid up at Othello overnight (Sunday). Buzz Thorsen brought Jennifer up to Othello in the motor home by the afternoon, and they will head to Spokane this evening to see Jared (who could well be released Monday evening). The plan is to pick up Ken on the way back (that was the plan as of 4:30 Sunday afternoon when Denise and I visited on the way back from the race).
Ken is in room 201 at the Othello hospital. He's in pretty good spirits at this point (he has challenged me to a bout of Greco-Roman wrestling later this week). Sheryl and Kevin were going to try and visit Jared on their return to Spokane this evening.
Your continued positive vibes for the Kaisers are much appreciated.
