We've acquired an original numbers matching 20H, from a yaaaaaaad sale!
Anybody tell me the year for SN 788524?
It looks like it needs a rewind spring and the ignition gone through.
"Congratulations Dave you are now the proud owner of a 195? Kiekhaefer
Model 20H sn 788524. A couple of good things about the engine is that
it appears to all original, the sn on the clamp bracket data plate
matches the sn on the block, however the crankcase lead seal is
missing. The engine turns over quite easily and seems to have ample
compression. I pulled the lube plug in the lower unit to find that
the unit is filled with what appears to be Lubraplate 105 white
grease. And yes it has a two blade brass propeller mounted on the
shaft. The original gold paint still covers about 50% of the lower
unit, the intermediate lower unit is all original and the clamp screws
look to be original and are in excellent shape, the swivel pin is free
and both shock springs are in place. On the down side the rewind
starter spring is broken and there is no ignition spark. While the
spark plugs were removed (J4J) I squirted some oil into the cylinders
to further preserve the cylinders until you take possession.
I really feel once the starter spring is replaced and the ignition is
repaired the old beast will come to life. Hey forgot to mention that
he threw in a hand full of new piston rings and several fuel pump gasket sets that were left by the original owner. And yes it has what appears to be an original Keikhafer steering bar. Also as a separate purchased I acquired one water pump removal tool (the big aluminum fixture the removes the
conical nut on the lower unit) and a spare brass prop"
