Oh my goodness Dave Curtis is a great guy.. I have the sister boat to his. It came off of the jigs right before or right after his but it is identical. We love it. I am focused in on the "B" mod right now so I found a driver for the "C" mod. Mainly because I cant stand to see it sit and on the beach..OOOHHH yeah... I cant forget to mention there is only a slight difference between the "C" mod and "B" mod speeds, c mod props often times work on the b mod stuff as well.. The Y80 offers pyramid reeds and no need for filler blocks in the exhaust, just bolt the plate on and go. and Y80's are cheap. just some food for thought..one boat two classes. This is how it starts..lol

One thing is for certain... it will turn like nothing else out there. Welcome to the mod classes, You have done a beautiful job on you equipment. I hope you can make it to the east coast for a few races.Mike - One of the Montana Boys

Try a few different things with the pipe. I used to drop the pipe going into the corner and then pull it coming out and I was doing myself an injustice. What works best for us is we shove the boat into the corner as fast as we can entering the corner and drop the pipe about half way through at the apex of the turn, or when you can hear the motor grunting. Coming out of the turn don't just snap the pipe forward, spool it up to full rpms and feed it the pipe, You'll hear the motor change pitch. With a good prop (wheel) you will probably be about 1/3 of the way down the straightaway before you start feeding the pipe to the motor. I'm not trying to come off like a know it all or anything like that, I'm just trying to save you the aggravation of making the mistakes that I made. Give it a try, Hopefully it works as well for you as it does for us.Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most.

Never had to do a last minute thrashing to get a motor fixed just before our first race. I am almost positive I found the problem. Filler block gasket is not sealing so cooling water is going into the exhaust and out the stock exhaust exit by the prop. Probably keeping the pipe from working right also. Leak is in the lower right hand corner.
Hope I can get it sealed by Thursday or I will have to wait two more weeks to run.
We did come up with a boat name or one of us did. The "MONEY PIT"Mike - One of the Montana Boys

A lot of this is a learning curve and the little lady loves to give me a hard time. I can pay her back though since she is the club secretary this year.
Lee Tietze has helped me out and hopefully when the epoxy is set up tomorrow all problems will be over. It just a bit of new boat blues. Thats the second new boat for me where the throttle has come undone at the throttle handle.Mike - One of the Montana Boys
