I thought I would put some pics up of my lastest project. I bought the hull during the summer here in Toledo. I wasn't really looking for a boat at this time, but it was to good of a deal to pass up. My older brother and I had a 10' hydro way back when I was 10 years old. We have been kicking the idea around of building another for fun. Well I'm 41 now, and when this deal popped up I couldn't resist. I have been told this a Black Widow hull built in 88. I am completely redoing it. The past owners really hacked it up over the years, so it now has a new bulkhead, sub floor, and transom. We found a "like brand new" 50 horse Merc for it. The man who owned it bought it new in 1970, and has had it in the basement since 72. It is a really nice peice. We started putting all new steering in it, and getting the seat and fuel tank in place. The pics of it in yellow are from when I bought it, and as you can see we have started prepping for a new paint scheme.
I don't plan on racing this, it's just for fun at the lake. I have a couple of race cars now, so I don't need to get into another race project. My wife seems to think that things will change after I go to a couple of boats races. I will keep putting some pics up to show the progress.
