just a thought here. if NBRA is considering adding this class I would suspect that you stand a good chance to get some APBA drivers to participate. I would make it easy on them and keep the same rules that they are currently racing under. This should give more drivers an incentive to race with you as they will not have to make any drastic changes in order to be competitive. Otherwise knowing that a guy would have to start testing his ASR/ ASH WITHOUT tuck or height restrictions and go out and find some new props to run with these set ups would most likely discourage someone from participating.

This is why I wanted to see what the majority wanted. After all, the drivers should have the say so. It seems the majority would like to keep the height restrictions the same.

Not sure this was ever repealed, so get out your almost like new OMC parts, bolt on your Merc parts and jack your Merc to 3/4" and go get'em

I found these interesting in the 2003 minutes from Detroit......We tried the Mercury in the A Class.....

I am sure this information never made it to the technical manula or the rule book and it is from 2003.

NBRA....an off-shoot of an organization i "ran" with several years ago..in my humble opinion, promotes safe..FAST..(if your stupid enough to run your "stuff"..over your head you"ll end up on it) racing....wish APBA would adopt most of "their" rules....is it racing or what???????

          A Class

NBRA did vote at the Nat. meeting to run the ASH & ASR at the Nationals in 2010 using APBA tech & height rules. This race is at Centralia Il. the last weekend of July. Just a great place to race at. $4500.00 prize & tow money. And yes it will be for a championship. If you are not going to California and still want to compete for a championship heres your chance. If you are going to Ca. it is on the way. The other APBA classes are included in our class structure stock and mod. Come and give us a try you will find our safety rules just as stringent and enforced. And yes we are insured. Entry fees $85.00 NBRA membership. Usually we charge $25.00 per class. Want to have a great racing experience. I guarantee everybody will be welcomed with open arms, and treated fairly regardless of your afilliation. Stay tuned for further info as the year goes on. Click on our website its on this site.
          Thanks Art K

            Thanks Art

It is true everyone is welcome with open arms, afterall, they let me race with them. It is a serious organization to race with, the saftey aspects they have in place enforced to a very strong degree. It is a common sense approach to boat racing. If you want to come race and have fun, try it out, as long as the whining is negated, you will have fun. The parties they throw are a lot of fun, and the event is very well coordinated. Alan Owen does a great job setting this race up. I know he has supported some APBA races as well, so maybe this represents a great oppurtunity to pay him back in kind. I don't know of to many folks in any oraganization that can put all the effort into a Nationals like Alan does. Come and enjoy the fruits of his labor.
