Does anybody know who made this boat? I just bought it today to play around on the lake with but I dont have any idea who made it.The boat measures 9ft long and is very well built and it really nice shape.
I have some older 18 Johnsons,Maybe I will try one of those.I also have a newer 15.This boat has a 15 inch transom,What would it have been raced with a 15hp OMC?
Its a pre-1996 B&H boat. Its hard to tell where it might have come from without knowing more about its size. I don't know where Jeff Ruenzel's BSH- that's a REAL B Hot Rod, not the wimpy 15 cubic inch version they want to pass off as a B nowdays- went. Ruenzel had one of the most memorable victories in my memory at a Nationals. As a first year driver in the most competitive class, BSH, Jeff won the first final heat by a good margain. We told him to play it cool the second heat and he would win. Jeff Hutchins got out in front and people assumed he'd win that heat. But Ruenzel ran him down and passed him on the outside like a real veteran. Other guys had raced for years and never passed Hutch on the outside! When he got back in he said he knew he didn't have to pass Hutchins to win, he just wanted to pass him because he (Jeff H) was the best. And, yes, he did get luckey that evening although that is a much longer story. I thought Ruenzel's boat may have had some dark plywood on it but am not certain about that. Paint scheme is similar to Jon Lesters stuff but he only ran big stuff and his brother ran A but in Giles boats at least as far as I remember.
