Mike Bontoft has a big project under way, inspired by his race win this year in England. He just purchased Dry Martini IV, the 1974 Cigarette originally owned by Carlo Bonomi. Though the boat was "restored" he found the tanks had leaked and needs to replace the stringers that were underneath them. The engines also needed a complete tear down and repairs even though they were new. The rest of the boat is in excellent condition, including the original paint and upholstery. We hope to start testing this Spring for the 50th anniversary Cowes - Torquay - Cowes race next August.
This is a new A Marathon we built for Top-O 2010. I couldn't show a completely clear picture or all the secrets in the design might get to the competition No the truth is was in such a hurry to get some test time forgot to get a real good picture:bond:

Yes there is .... probably from a few different teams Should be fun to see the new (new-looking) B,C,D rigs Did I hear the hot Su twins are moving to the NW?
lookin good Mike! Your a ONE MAN factory there! Are you putting a front cowl (APEL style?) on the "almost complete" one, instead of a full windshield?
If you look close in the last picture you can see the composit nose in the back ground. I would of finished the deck on the first boat today but threw my back out. I am going to work on the nose next after I figure out how to install it.
