I wish you guys luck at the AOF Nat's. Maybe in th enear future y'all can coordinate and have a Nationals in the middle grounds, like Carter lake Iowa (Omaha NB). AOF hosted a few Nat's there in the past. A little closer for us midwest folks that would not mind coming out to play.
I would not mind a little travel. Why don't you folks put in for it? We would come. It would be nice to meet some of you Midwest folks. Are you coming to Oroville next year?

Unfortunately, SOA was forced to change the dates on their Lake Lawrence race due to some late (Lake Lawrence) community input, it was not a decision that they made lightly and was in no way done to compete with AOF Nationals. In fact they have apologized for the conflict that it has created.

That being said, I would love to see as many racers as possible show up for the AOF Nationals, perhaps some others from the opposite direction, although I know it is a long way to travel.

We are going to miss you Seattle guys!

Welcome to hydroracer, we hope you enjoy your visit.

            PRO Turnout?

Will there be any PRO 250/350 hydros at the AOF Nats?

in regards to the date change, a decision was made late this Wednesday evening August 26, 2009 that the original dates for AOF nationals will stay. While we did our best to accomodate the move of dates on Lake Lawrence we unfortunately were unable to pick up enough Seattle and surrounding members to negate the loss of some of the local AOF members who were unable to change their vacation dates. Thanks to Ron Baker and the board of directors for working so hard to try to make the date change happen. We applaud your efforts to include everyone at the nationals. For more on this decision, see the AOF category from the Main Forum page. --Teresa

This event will be held in Moses Lake Washington at Cascade park. There are a lot of onsite camping spots and a lot of lmotel/hotel odging near by. Get your reservations now before they are gone. http://mlrec.com/camping.html

Directions to the race are as follows: Take I-90 East or West depending on if you are coming from the Seattle or Spokane area and take exit 178 towards Othello/Moses, turn right onto NWA-17 N and then turn slight right on WA17N, turn Left onto Stratford Rd, turn right onto W Valley Rd. Address is 2001 Valley Road W.

Our motto is if you bring it we will run it. This year we have a large class of novice racers and good class of 20 SSH and CSH's. There will be the Nostalgia Flatbottoms also. Usually during our raffles the flatbottom guys put a couple rides in the pot for after the racing over. Folks have a lot of fun with this.

We would love to see some APBA and NBRA members join our fun. If any one has any questions or more info to add just get a hold of us on the web site. We are always here for some reason

That's right. Unfortunately we weren't able to meet everyones wishes. We had to keep the dates the same as the original proposal. Hopefully we will still get some AOF boat from other parts of the country, not just from the left coast.

A member convinced me to not attend the Oroville Nat's next year. Even without the input, I doubt my budget would allow it. I have to many hobbies and not enough resources. I admire the folks who can consitently travel to the east and midwest from the west coast and race each year. I wish I could, believe me.

As far as putting an AOF Nat's on, There are some folks that have experience with the location that might get involved, who knows. Something to think about.

I know the IOA put an AOF Nat's on there a time or two. If you guys coordinated with some other organizations, maybe it could be a pretty large Nat's. Who knows.

                    Dave,
You just may get your chance next year. Bobby Laws is running for AOF President next year. As you are aware, it was Bobby who worked on the initial Zanesville (or should I say return to Zanesville) race before it was cancelled because of high water then went to APBA.
A group from the South is looking at an Alexandria, LA nationals if he is Prez, or maybe even an Omaha/Carter Lake again.
And Teresa, the Florida group of AOF has several really nice races in the fall. If you ever get to Lake Placid to race you will think you are in boat racing heaven.
Next year should be a good one for AOF as a group will be meeting soon in Oklahoma City (where the beginning was about 40 years ago) to bring AOF back to a national organization, not just a West Coast club.
Dave, you can email me for particulars.

                      Lake Placid

Connie, I seem to remember a movie about Lake Placid! It involved a couple of huge crocodiles, a cow and Betty White Are you sure it is safe to race there. Really - I don't do snakes! --Teresa

Dave, while technically I know we are the left coast, aren't we really the RIGHT coast?
