Pretty sure Darrell Sorenson has one of these boats. The pics were posted on here at one time. I think I would rather race in the ole' U.S. and kneel instead of standing up!

Plus, it would be kind of hard to tip a few with the guys after the race since they are instantly hauled away from the race site and kept away from the public to stop corruption.

V-Bottom boats

I had use of one of the glass v-bottoms that Yamato built. Rigged
it with a 102 and had a ball......ran it once late in the fall on a
friend's lake right around Thanksgiving and ran good even with
two people on board. Here is link to site showing one of the

Also had one of the Yamato pro boats......was planning to run
it with an RB on it but never got the bugs worked out of the
motor to get a good ride in it. Was told that they had the wood
stored in large racks on wheels and they would take them outside,
weather permitting, where they would sit in the open air to dry the
wood. They naturally aged all the wood used in the boats a minimum
of a year before using any of it to build boats.

Notice how simple their program is, they don't run A,AXS,J, FA......20SS,C,OSY,CMod.....runnig the same power plant in multiple configurations....

Granted we are way more inclusive, but the fact remains their program is simple. If we had fewer classes we could run multiple heats in each class. That would be cheaper per minute of water time, easy for spectators to comprehend and maybe even marketable.

Now if I had suggested that very same thing, there'd be a gang waiting for me in the parking lot!
