1)I noticed how they have relatively small roosters.
    2) they appear to be truly hydrobouts with no fin

It would be interesting to see one of the boats in person
since i doubt that will ever happen, maybe Spunky can get pics of the bottoms. HeHe

This subject seems to come up every winter. A good off season chat topic.
The boats are a one step hydro design. A small center fin. The propshaft is run much deeper in the water than what we run, hence a small rooster tail. I think a couple of these boats have turned up out on the west coast.
Remember, Kyotei is big business. The boats are considered a disposable item. No nostalgia for equipment in this game.
Darrell Sorenson has a lot of information about this form of gaming. Perhaps he will chime in.

They run a clock start just like we do only they dont mill they do more like the inboards do form a line on the back stretch and come around the turn to the clock. I had two or three of the props they use somewhere they are not a surface prop and are made to run deep. If you look at the first vid with the girl pushing the boat on a cart you can see how deep the prop is.

In one of the later vids you can see the step from the side. I seem to remember reading that they do about 55mph. Looks like a neat ride, not porpoise-in all over, love the slider turns.. almost defy-in forward motion. :e

yes they turn them the way i turned the old AU on our local race (no fin) its FUN! but then we run time trials, so there are no other boats out there to bounce off of. just the bank

                Japanese racing

I read somewhere that the top runner made about 3/4 million a year or so.
You have to keep your standing up or be disposed by an up and comer from the drivers school.
OK who is going to Japan for drivers school to try for the big money.

                    Program

Notice how simple their program is, they don't run A,AXS,J, FA......20SS,C,OSY,CMod.....runnig the same power plant in multiple configurations....

Granted we are way more inclusive, but the fact remains their program is simple. If we had fewer classes we could run multiple heats in each class. That would be cheaper per minute of water time, easy for spectators to comprehend and maybe even marketable.

Who would be in charge of the bet'n/ticket windows ?..........

Would be a cool way to restore/generate interest in the old Miami stadium ?.....
HMMMMMM.....Do the Kyotei/Yamato racers ever go on tour?

you have to go to school for years to be able to race
you dont own your equipment you draw for numbers for your boat and engine each race
