  • Michigan Hydroplane Attention

I have asked for years through Jim Robb, but I would like for you to combine DSR and 750ccR at Constantine. This will bring 5-7 more runabouts and would allow others to make the trip. It would also give the DSR's a reason to come down for sure! I now live 4 hours a way and I need some more motivation to attend. I will also volunteer to announce a bit. Do you really want an event without the Cafarelli radar?

I can think of a few.

    Brian C. "In the 33M"
    George L.
    Steve R.
    Hays
    Rod and Lars T.
Fred H. "could run a runabout"
    Bobby L.

I know of 2 more but I can not release there names! 750 was one of the best classes at the nationals!

    That would be interesting.

Little typo there. But seriously, It's kinda far ahead for me to say for sure. But you could put me down in the likely to attend column. I'll be bringin' my DSR.
Glad you asked. Keep me posted Brian, Thanks.

Oh no... not a typo. The 750ccr is faster than the DSH! At least mine is.

Will there even be DSH at Constantine with Jim and Mark out?

      One more year Jim!

        Honestly....

Combinging DSR and 750CCR is a no brainer, without adding any time to the schedule, and could only serve to increase entries to the event. At a lot of events the stocks step into the Mod classes to get a ride for the weekend when no other DSR's show up. They are competitive. Josh Pearsons came to Hillsdale one year and dang near won the whole thing, it is a short course and start and first turn are important.

Since the combination of these two classes is not really that difficult, I would like to see 500CCH added to the schedule. The engines are quiet, same noise as the Pro counterparts. The city can relate to the Pro classes there. The amount of spectators at the Pro races verse the stock race are typically very different in my experiences with both venues.

And Brian, I think DSH is a dead class in Region 6 this year. I don't know of any that are racing it in 2009. With Sweeny and Wheeler and Gotchaulk out, it does not leave enough for a class.

          C'mon Mr. Negative!

"And Brian, I think DSH is a dead class in Region 6 this year. I don't know of any that are racing it in 2009. With Sweeny and Wheeler and Gotchaulk out, it does not leave enough for a class."

You have been around long enough to know that class participation goes up and down like a roller coaster from year to year. Once the rigs sell that you mentioned, hopefully they will stay in our region???

We have a new driver in Trora that loves the class and we still have the 2008 Winter National Champ Shawn O'Leary and the 2008 Summer National Champ and Hi Pt National Champ Tom Smith both within an hour or so of Constantine.

Heck, with the new Tohatsu gaining popularity I see DSH one of the classes in our region that should be growing real soon.

p.s. MHRA can only race so many classes in a given day...I have no idea how they get as many done in a weekend like they currently do

If you want a real idea of what people want I suggest that you replace one of the two "yes" boxes with a "no" box.

Steve... the votes are in and it is a clear Yes! I understand my polling methods are questionable and even partisan, but the numbers don't lie everyone wants this to happen!

Not everyone can get what they want. I do understand this. 750R is a growing class and DSR is not growing. I am advocating change to help those who want to race multiple weekends with different crowds. I have supported MHRA with my participation, promotion and volunteering above the call of duty annually. I am an IOA member, but I support everyone that puts on a race.

I am just looking for some honest analysis. We help those that help themselves.

HELL YES!! I would love to hang with the my stock friends, mod friends, drink a few at the VFW and whip on some MOD-heads with my wimpy little stocker... Especially on a course that my baby can turn up a little.

                        Good

We will see what the numbers say this summer.

I can't imagine DSH left off any TRORA schedule Jeff...... I won't talk anymore, if you want to discuss, PM me. I will gladly spell it out for you.

                          just a thought

Combine DSR and DMR, to be scored separately.

If CMH was put on the schedule, I would do my best to get drivers to attend.

If either DSH or CMH had low numbers, they could be combined and scored separately.

How about ASR Stock Classic while you're at it.

C'mon, there's at least 12 hours of daylight in mid June.
