  • Maria,
Your kids are great. They always help out as well as race. I hope you stay with it and I have always tried to give them recognition. They would get a vote from me, but then again, everyone on the list would.
In addition I would like to add one more name. This is a young lady who does not race, but if you were late for registration or had a number she could not read from the judges stand, I am sure she would kick your butt. And to boot she is on the honor society in H.S. My vote is for Allie Runne. I am kind of partial to those who work their tails off on the bank for those who race. Talk about not getting recognized. Again, I hope that in the past I have given her the praise she deserves.

I really enjoy racing with, talking with, and learning from all the young people I meet at the races.

See ya in the first turn,

This thread was not intended to hurt anyone's feelings. In fact I anticipated to boost morale among the younger generation of our sport. Just as the David Weaver post said "This is another fun way to make the winter go by faster until it time to race." I don’t want anyone else to get rid of three boats, two motors and a trailer because of this thread. So as of sometime tomorrow the list will be deleted, unless someone copies and pastes it and takes over the voting! I don’t want anything to do with losing anymore young boat racers.

Now hypothetically speaking if I were an a**, which I'm not, I'm just really irked by this womans ignorance. I would have replied like this. (Nothing against the kids what so ever, I’m sure they’re truly what I was looking for on this list)

To Hott Momma: There are just under 3,000 registered users on Hydroracer.net, you are the first and only one to complain. Also, you stated “their first year of racing nothing but first and seconds” not even Brandon Thirlby gets “nothing but first and seconds” and in their first year, give me a break. You also declared that “WE HIT EVERY RACE IN FLOIDA”, I highly doubt that, seriously “every”. Even if you did, so what, ya’ll obviously didn’t do enough at these races to even get recognized at all by your peers. So basically what I’m gathering is that you and your family went to some Back Yard Boat races (there is nothing wrong with BYB) beat out three maybe four people and now you expect everyone and their brother to praise your children for how great they are. If you're really quitting boat racing because of this thread you need some help! By the way what’s with the apostrophe below the word instead of on top where it belongs? Example: he’s not he,s. I hope you kids continue to race even at your mothers discretion! There is always that one person out of 3,000 that has to ruin it for us all. Thank you to all that participated! Now that was all just hypothetically speaking

If you do well you might get a pat on the back at most races. Unless you do something like win a nationals, don't expect much more.

I know its not much but this was the main reason I created HR so that we could have a venue to promote our races and give our kids the recognition that they deserve. The problem is I am a one man show and cannot cover the entire country without the help of you the members, so if you want to see a cover story about your kid then let me know

I think Billy "The Kid" Hemp needs to be added. When he isn't off playing hockey, he plays pretty well with the older guys.

Did you find a victim for the pin striping party at Ocoee yet? You could be the next young gun pin striper! I have all the materials, just need a victim
