I was happy to share Richard's thoughts. I have the unique perspective of being in contact with those who are at the war everyday. I also work at Womack Army Medical Center here at Fort Bragg so I take care of the soldiers and their families. It is always amazing to me how one sided the news media and politicians are. I think hearing from those on the ground everyday helps to put things in some kind of order because going over for a couple days on a "fact finding mission" and coming back and spouting off your unexperienced opinion does not cut the mustard with me.
I have relayed your messages to Richard and he was very touched. He wants everyone to know he was glad to share but he was not trying to influence anyone just had to put some stuff on paper to get it out of his head. Since there is no Operational Security issues in the post to worry about you may share the letter if you wish.

Kristi: Please tell Richard that I too am reminded of the great sacrifices that have been and are being made for the feedom that exists here everytime I pull a starter cord on an outboard racing engine or one of my cases goes to trial. In every closing argument I make to a jury, I remind the jury that what they are doing in serving is so important because not everyone in the world gets to resolve a dispute upon the judgment of other citizens.

Didn't loose

Great letter Col.. Seems I can not remember where I was when the towers went down--don't know why---but as my Roofing company does many roofs in Manhattan Brooklyn and Staten Island I get to see where they used to stay quite often and being a Vietnam Vet (67 68 tet offensive) my stomach pains and my eyes tear because I see the fools and politicians of this country
making the same mistakes again. When you drive on the BQE and you look west you can see where the towers were, look left over the river and you see the Statue of Liberty she is holding her arm up in the air and I dream that she is pointing her middle finger at Osama and his gang. There are no terriosts we are fighting a people (terroists are 5 guys with pipe bombs)
who have armies and military might and where ever they are we need to
wipe them from the earth or believe you me the fight will continue.
