Amen Tom. Let us all reflect back and never forget what happened. Every trip (am in the aviation industry) I work it shocks me as to how people seem to have forgotten what happened. They ignore our safety requests; talk back to us and quite honestly many just don't care. Let us not live in fear but let us "remember".

Were I was.
Tom, I was about to start a thread titled "Where were you?" I think everyone who has lived through a historic and trajic event will always remember where they were when "it" happened. In my lifetime, I remember things like, President Reagan getting shot, Both Space Shuttle tragedies, and the 9-11 attacks.
I recall sitting in a laundrymat, dividing my attention between watching the clothes in the dryer spinning around, and watching the Today show on the cheap TV that sat on top of the pop machine. Suddenly an anouncement by one of the hosts that an aircraft had just crashed into one of the World Trade Center towers. I thought to myself: "it must have been a little single engine sightseeing airplane that had gotten too close and clipped its wingtip on the building." Then, I saw a live image of the second tower. It was completely unexpected by me to see the second aircraft just then fly into the second tower. I suddenly realized what was happening! This was no accident at all! I began to get sick to my stomach. It was that moment that I will always remember. The moment my eyes were opened to the evil that man can do.
I will always remember.

I was driving down Hwy 169 here in Minnesota returning a rented engine hoist and was listening to a talk radio station and Marc Oconiel (a announcer ) "Holly **** there's a second plane that just flew into the trade center in New York" I have used those buildings as a navigational beacons coming from sea I will never forget !!!!!
I still can not believe that the little B*****d is still free but he will get his comupins
I too can remember where I was during the shuttles, President Regan and the latest is the 35w Bridge

I was at work that day and heard it on the radio. At first we all thought it was a terrible joke. But as we listened closely reality set in and we knew it was no joke. The company I worked for shut the plant down that day in fear. They made some major parts for planes and they felt it was in our best interest that they close down that day. I will always remember that and never forget those who died at the hands of very sick sick people.

My husband is currently serving his 3rd 1 year tour to the war. He is stationed in Iraq and sent me the attachment to this post. He could not sleep until he got this diatribe out of his head. It is long but I think it is worth the read if you take the time.
I was working in the Army's burn unit in San Antonio the morning of Sep 11,2001. I was called into the break room by my Chief nurse after he saw the first plane hit. I paged my husband and told him to turn on the TV ( he was in general surgery report and that is never to be interuppted). Then the 2nd plane hit....We started organizing the flight team and the staff mas cal rosters to prepare for the burn victims who never came. It was and still is heart wrenching.....our world and our childrens world changed that day forever!
I will never forget and I will never let my children forget what we lost and how important it is to fight for freedom and those things we hold dear.

Amazing
I am not a person that enjoys reading but PLEASE take the time and read this... It is amazing! I have been lucky enough to become close to the Ellison family and I have alot of respect for Richard and Kristi as well. I love those boys as if they are my own brothers....
Anyways... I was actually in my high school physics class and didnt even give a second though to what they were saying because it seemed unreal. How could someone do that to us? After the second time we heard it, we turned on the TV and were amazed as to what was happening to our country. I remember our school was let out early and we all rushed to the gas station to wait in line for hours not knowing if we would have gas in the morning... I think about the war very often. I pray every night that Richard and Kris(on of my best friend's husband) and all of the military come home safely. I dont think we thank them enough for our freedom! THANK YOU!!!!!Ab

Saw it on TV . . .
Building #1 and the newsheads were in denial, talking about possible "navigation error." With a clear blue sky? I think not. Then the second plane came in. I'm saying to a lady friend, "Those buildings are coming down." And they did.
I reckon I was quite stunned by it all because next thing I'm straping my briefcase on the scoot and fixing to go to work. *WHOMP!* Uh-oh. I look up around and don't see smoke, so I zoom off to work. Never made it. At the intersection of I-395 and Little River Turnpike I could see the smoke from the Pentagon plane strike rising. I live about 7 crow-fly miles away from the Pentagon and I heard the explosion!
Sad, strange day.carpetbagger
