Now you know why I ride with a GPS.
I might not go if it's Daytona weekend.

      Need to set a date!

Ross is right, with the upcoming Sled Shows many people will be reserving blocks of rooms for there trips. We need to decide a date and place soon.

In discussions with Fox, Ross, etc. it looks like there is significant interest in doing something new... and Munising has had the most interest. So we can move forward with the Best Western in Munising if there aren't [many] objections.

As far as weekends, 2/7-9 and 2/15-17 are the leading candidates. Again:
-Some MI folks that will be taking work off 1/31-2/1 for the National meeting (Kerr, Trolian, Sutherland, Ross, Hagerls, Ladd, Miskerik, etc.) may have issues getting time off again the following week. Plus the 2/7-9 weekend overlaps Pearson's annual trip.
-The conflict with the 2/15-17 weekend is the Daytona 500 (Spud). But if we are moving it west (Munising), I think the WI people could be home in time for the race festivities. Am I wrong on this? (I don't want to exclude anyone, especially Hemps...)

Give me your input one last time.

I like the 2 week lag after the National Meeting. If your a Daytona 500 die hard fan you should be able to make that happen evenif you have to drive home. You could always leave Saturday night. By Saturday night after railing hundreds of miles you probably are not going to ride Sunday anyway. I know last year we Rode home from Grand Maria back to the cabin and that extra 4 hours on the sled kicked my butt on Monday morning. I know if I had been riding a Rev I would have been fine(Spud). For the Michigan connection the drive west to Munising is about the same as going north to Grand Maria. If any of the New York boys or anyone from the East coast would like to attend there is no problem getting a sled to rent in Munising. And if you call us we may even be able to provide a sled for you for the cost of beer. Let's get the feed back a quick as possible and maybe a in or out status on your group. Mikey

          Just Doo it !

Mikey / Kladd - Munising is fine for me .. but I'm only one. That's my feedback. Firm up date and Hotel and I'll reserve.

Del/Spud/Davey/Lou/Jeff/Frank/Ed and whoever else - I am going to plan on riding a day or two before everybody gets there for the weekend. Del and I started planning this at Beloit.

That extra Rev cover will be going on Ebay here shortly ..... LIKE NEW.

6 in one, 1/2 dozen the other

            I can do either weekend.

If its the weekend of the 16th, I will have an extra weekend of riding... which is allllll goooood

If its the weekend of the 9th. I will most likely ride from Brimley to Munising Friday and stay in Munising Friday night with all you jackazzes... then ride down to Curtis on Saturday to meet up with my dad and his Pepsi ride jackazzes on Saturday night.

Soooo either is fine with me...

              boatracer stag weekend

Ok, we haven't heard more feedback so Ross, Fox and I are deciding...

2/15-16 will be the big ride dates!

I am going to call and reserve a block of 15 rooms under "boatracer stag weekend". I've talked to them all, just haven't decided which one...

Comfort Inn ($95), Super 8 ($80), Best Western ($90)... All have plenty of parking, pool, jaccuzi, internet, and are near the trail. Any experience or suggestions?

When Davey and I went to the Milwaukee Snow show I got two show specials from there. 1 is for the Best Western it says 20% discount just tell them snow show. The other one is for the Comfort Inn or Days Inn thats 15% off Rack rate What ever that is. Again just say Milwaukee show, We need to DOO the Comfort Inn/Days Inn before 12/24. Best Western doesn't say how long it's good for.
We have the Green Bay show next weekend and they should be there again. Can find out more then. Spud

I'm with Spud on the rate discounts. Swing the best deal you can Kevin, just like a Boat race weekend, we're only in the room to sleep and get cleaned up. Doesn't have to be the TajMaHal for me, just decent and a Good Furnace , and a hot tub is always nice !

I appreciate the leg work and phone calls you guys are putting in.

                    Kerry's in

I ran into my wingman the other night at Bob's, I prommised not to break his rear bumper this year, he said he would give me a second chance. I cannot speak for Steve but I am in, may not stay in Munising though. Anybody from Northern Mi. that needs a lift let me know, I have access to a four place trailer and my truck holds 5.

                        Comfort Inn!

i called all the hotels, and reserved a block of rooms at the cheapest place... unfortunately, spud called a week later and beat the Comfort Inn down further in price so i had to switch everything... besides it has a bar inside the place i later found out. so...

EVERYONE NEEDS TO TALK TO EACH OTHER, DECIDE WHO YOU'RE ROOMING WITH, AND CALL THE COMFORT INN TO RESERVE YOUR OWN ROOMS. THE BLOCK WILL BE HELD UNTIL 1/15/08 UNDER MY NAME. THEIR NUMBER IS 906-387-5292. DON'T PROCRASTINATE!

we have 12 rooms held for TH 2/14 and 15 rooms held for SA 2/15 & SU 2/16at $79.99/night. they have gas next door, a pool, hot tub, a free breakfast, attached bar, and are right on the trail head. should be good times...

AGAIN, CALL THE COMFORT INN @ 906-387-5292 and make your reservations for 2/14-16 under the block of rooms held for KEVIN LADD. Have your credit card handy and get a confirmation #...

ps. I'm going to pick up a newer F7 tomorrow to put those revs to shame...

                          Only 11 Rooms left

                          I booked mine tonight.
Kevin I hope the CAT works better than your first showing on one. If I recall that one didn't make the first day?
I can't wait to see this one. Oh ya maybe I'll bring JOSH with me again. He's got all of his sleds running now.

Here is my plan. I am having to run low budget. Going to cabin in UP thursday night. Loading up and will be in Munising 9-10 am. Staying Friday night only. Then back to cabin after riding Saturday and staying the night there. Leaving for down state Sunday morning and hopefully make the race or at least get to watch the end for sure. If you like this plan call me and your stay at the cabin is free, or maybe a few beers for Mikey. See Ya

my plans are to leave from work THU, pick up 2 TX racers from the airport, pick up my crew cheif in Saginaw, and head up to my dad's in Brimley for the nite. then FRI morning drive over to Munising with the sleds on the trailer and ride. i only reserved rooms for FRI & SAT nites at the Comfort Inn for my party...

We should plan to meet at 9am in the breakfast area and get on the trail by 10am.

also, we will need to be renting at least 2 sleds. who else will need to rent? i think we can get the rentals delivered to the hotel once we get a final count...
