Wrong !! watch the tach on the right 12,000 RPM = well over 200 mph back in the 80's I had a Ninja 600R that would go from 0 to 120 in under 5 seconds if you could shift it fast enough. The tach reading at 100 mph + is only 5,000 rpm. In the video he red lines the motor at 12,000 rpm !

The power house in the R1:

          998cc, liquid-cooled, 16-valve, DOHC, inline four-cylinder

998cc !!!!!!! This is a wicked monster only for the serious driver or racer.

You do the math, 998cc on a 300lb. bike with a small driver

                Wrong . . .

I do ride bikes, and 264 MPH is not going to be done on a street bike. The R1 weight is 382, not 300, minor point. Math RE: tach is a guess unless you know final gear ratio, tire diam etc etc . . . I had a Kawi 90cc that turned 13 grand at top speed which was a shade over 70, so *I* know how fast 12,000 PRM is My 550 Suzuki cranked close to 12 grand at a shade over a ton. My kid's Yamahonker FZR 700 would break 150 near red line which I seem to recall was around 11,500.

My present scoot might break 100 MPH downhill with a tailwind and with a rider with brass ones -- red line 5,500 RPM. And there is no way, other than defying physics, that my FLHS would do a wheelie. Perfect for an old fart with limited reaction time.

The background narrative description on the video indicates KPH:

wheelies at 270ish red line at 12000 speed 290kmh a fair bit left, fu*king insane,,,, plz enjoy..

Dan - read Motorcycle Consumer News

a mag that has no factory $$$ suport and is fairly brutal on the various flaws of bikes. Over the years - piles of mags that I gave to my MC basic rider course students - a one liter bike of any make runs in the 190s MPH top speed even if the ballsy rider pegs out the rev limiter, which on most 4-cyl inline engines is a tad over 13,000 RPM.

All this techo info does not detract from the simple fact, that MPH or KPH, that rider was ONE CRAZY DUDE! I sincerly hopre he/she has a whopping life insurance policy and a living will DNR order.

On the race track, fine, on the street NO!

                              doing the math . . .

                              290 KPH = 180.2 MPH

That's in the ball park for a one liter crotch rocket.
