Help Those With Cancer... Relay for Life

Just picked up Wendy from Relay for Life....she had a great night, but is now in bed. Her school raised over $14,000. (she raised $1,500. of it). We're very proud of her. Thank you to all who helped her be a "Star" Relay Supporter.

Hey, finally woke up this morning
I've got some pictures from the relay. It went on from 2pm Saturday, when they introduced the survivors and had them take the first lap, until 8am Sunday at the closing ceremony. It was pretty fun- there was Jazzercising, Zumba, Limbo, 3-legged Racing, and whatnot. They had different entertainment the whole night, from Irish dancers to a band derived of kids from my school at 4 in the morning. Needless to say, I did not sleep one bit.
Now, to the important part. My school's team raised over $14,000. Which, in itself is amazing. However, it was a very big event, the biggest in the county. And altogether, we raised over $100,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Thanks once again to everyone who helped me reach my goal. You are so amazing, and should know that your impact is great in someone's life. I was proud to be able to stand up and be recognized as one of the few people who raised $1,500.or more for this event. I got many looks of gratitude from the survivors, and I really felt good about having done my best to raise so much money. Which is all thanks to everyone who selflessly donated and supported my efforts. Thank you all!

These are the luminarias. On them are written the names of people who have passed due to cancer, or have pushed through the sickness and are still fighting today. There were many survivors there who told us their stories. It was a great experience, and it was wonderful to hear so many success stories above the very sad ones.

Once again, I thank you so much for everything. It was such a great experience, and I'm glad to have been a part of it. Thanks to everyone to their endless support!

Wendy, My wife Rena Howard is a survivor as Ian has mentioned in a previous post. She would like to send you some PINK jewlrey that she has made. You can sell this jewlrey and use the proceeds to put toward the relay.
