  • Help Those With Cancer... Relay for Life

Hey, I am doing Relay for Life with my school, West Shore Jr./Sr. High, and I was wondering if anyone in the racing family would want to sponsor me by making a donation to The American Cancer Society. I am currently doing this in honor of Marty Stahl, Rick Jedwabny, and Gail Wolfe. I feel this is a good way to help those who are beating cancer have a greater opportunity to become cancer free. What better feeling is there than knowing that you have helped save a life?

Even if you can't donate because you have to spend that money on making it to the next race , you can still give me names of people to honor at this event.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life® is a life-changing event that gives people in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events and 18 hours in length.

In addition to helping people celebrate, remember, and fight back, Relay For Life® also helps raise much-needed funds and awareness to help the American Cancer Society save lives from cancer.

Please support me in my efforts by visiting my personal web page to make a secure, tax-deductible online donation.

Every donation really does make a difference. I know that times are tighter than normal for many of us, but any amount you can give truly can help save lives.

Thanks to your support, the American Cancer Society can:
    · Help people stay well by helping them take steps to prevent cancer or detect it early, when it’s most treatable
    · Help people get well by being in their corner around the clock to guide them through every step of their cancer experience
    · Find cures by funding groundbreaking research that helps us understand cancer’s causes, determine how best to prevent it, and discover new ways to cure it
    · Fight back by working with lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and rally communities worldwide to join the fight

            Hey Rick:~)
JP is right...it's me you need to see (or Wendy). She'll be doing the relay on May 1st and 2nd, I'm just helping to set up and chaperone for the school team.
Wendy and I will be at the race this weekend on Sunday. Wendy is in her first school musical this Friday and Saturday, so we won't make it to Ocoee until then...she's a busy girl.
We'll get with you on Sunday. Thank you so much

Thank you Kristin Stahl and Mema and Pa for your support.

Relay time is almost a week away. I'm trying to get some extra sleep in each night so I won't have any problem staying awake the whole night.

                      Please donate if you can.

                      Love Wendy

                          Just Three Days to Go!!!

Not long ago, I initiated this forum asking for your support. I know how busy you all are, so I thought I’d send a friendly reminder in case you’re able to support me in my efforts. Your contribution will help people in our community and around the world who are fighting cancer and will help the American Cancer Society continue to save more lives from this disease. Times are tight, but that means people need our support now more than ever.

I’m initially in the Relay to fulfill my community service hours for school. To be honest, I only needed to raise $50.00 for the cause and to attend the Relay to have done that. But, my racing family and I have a motto….”Anything worth doing is worth over-doing!” Helping raise money to benefit the American Cancer Society is definitely worth over-doing. That’s why I set my personal fundraising goal at $1,000.00. I have currently raised 86% of that goal…and I am truly amazed at the support I have received so far. I am so close, but I’m not there yet. Could you please help me reach my goal?

Every little bit counts…that’s why it’s great to have such a big family and friend base. If we all give a little, it amounts to a lot.

                          Thank you for your time,
                          Wendy Eldredge

Thank you SO, SO much to everyone who has donated! You have helped such an amazing cause, and are truely a life saver. In addition, I am extremely happy and proud to announce that we have met the goal of raising $1000.00! Think of how much that can be accomplished with the money you have graciously given up for a human being you don't even know, but desperately needs it. Thank you for helping to achieve something that means a lot to me, and so many others. It's things like this that show just how great the world can be when we work together.

Once again, thank you very much for your time, donations and effort. The donation page will be open until tomorrow if you still wish to help out.

The relay is tomorrow, so I will let you all know how it goes.

                              Thanks!
