I have never raced stock but have seen and heard of the many things Bob has done over the years. Bob would always go above and beyond for boat racing. He helped many get involved in the sport. This is a great loss to all of APBA's racing family. May we all learn from Bob's example of giving back to the sprot he loved.

From the first time I met Bob and drove a Racecraft back in 1989 I have felt like part of his family.

Shortly after, he took me and a college buddy in for a month or so. Living with Linda, Brian and Tenielle...and Paul briefly...I realized how generous he, and they all were.

We've been friends ever since and there is no way to replace that.

Total sportsman, the most generous guy I knew. While driving one of his ASH boats in 1990 he told me he'd give me $100 if I could beat Billy Allen. I caught a break and got a first in Lawrenceville. He slid me $100 with a big smile later that year at the Nationals. What a guy.

Made me proud to take the BSH title in one of his boats in 1998 and then later in 1999.

I saw him just a couple hours before his passing. Just like him to hang in there till I could make it to the hospital.

Thanks, my friend...for being my friend.

God bless Linda, Brian, Paul, Sharon, Tenielle and Robert, Jr. and their families.

        Dana, Amy and Josie.

          Ponch

God I'll miss Him !! I've known Ponch since he lived in NJ and have never lost close contact. Stayed at a couple of different homes of his in Florida and shared a few glasses of wine and long conversations. It was an honor to know him. I'll say it again. God I'll miss Him !!
          Rest in Peace Ponch

                    Our condolences

I think of Bob every day as i look at the picture of Valerie in her first J Hydro on the wall over my dresser................it was a Racecraft that was Sharon's boat that Bob trimmed out for Val! He made it clear a Racecraft was to be her first ride!

                    Race on Bob.........

                      Rip

I consider myself a lucky individual (not just racer) to have met Pops Trolian at the National Meeting in North Carolina this past January. His smile and fun loving persona made me feel priviledged to experienced his induction into the Honor Squadron. He talked with me briefly, not too long after we met, and made me feel like a friend.

My condolences to the Trolian family (as well as his extended racing family). I will carry his smile with me always!

                      Sincerely,
                      Alicia Peterson 31-R
I'm not afraid to go fast, it's the crashing and burning that sucks!

I had one of the better learning times in my life when I got to meet and work with Ponch. I moved to Florida with the last $50 of my life in my pocket. He and Linda took me in and I will always be grateful to them.
I not only knew Ponch as a friend but also as a boss. He was just the same giving guy at work as he was at home or the races. There were nights when we would be working till the wee hours trying to get a project done,He would show up and not only ask how it was going but also get dirty helping us get it done.
I know one of the times to remember in Ponch's life was when Cooper was standing be hind him and asked him if he could move so he could see. That made Ponch feel like he was 6' tall. I don't think he ever forgot that either.
I will miss him dearly not seeing him at the races leading Team Racecraft.
Thanks for the lesson in life.

                            A Great Man

My deepest sympathy to the entire Trolian family. You are all a wonderful example of what Ponch or "Mr. Trolian" to me, was all about. He was great to my brother and I in Fla loaning us a boat one year and many times after that. He was one of a few who always said hello and somehow knew my name despite there being so many of us brothers who raced. Recently I mentioned to him how often I remember his winning the ASH title at Youngstown in 1991. He was so appreciative that I remembered that. That was a great moment in his life that he shared with his entire family. I'm just glad I was there in inspection to witness it.

                            God Bless you Mr. Trolian

Truly a sad day. I will always be grateful to Ponch for helping me get started. He did so much for so many. A true gentleman, always generous with help, advice, or encouragement. We'll miss you Ponch. Thoughts and prayers to the Trolian and Racecraft family.
