There are no words that I could write that would do justice to how great a person Pop was and friend. Rest in peace my friend, rest in peace.

Ponch was the best example of what "kneel Down" racing is
all about. He shared his passion with his family, and everyone
around him. He will be greatly missed by all.
Our condolences to the Troilan family from all the Schaubs.
                  May he race in peace.

Altho he was more of a runabout guy, Ponch was a friend to all of us racers. He even let my brother live with him when they were both at Wellcraft in Fla. He was a great guy and involved for so many years but still had the spark of enthusiasm. He will be missed.

Our condolences go out to the entire family.

Boat Racing has lost another great person that would do anything for anyone at the races. I was never at a race where he didn’t come over to give me a big hug. I enjoyed every minute of the time we had together chatting…Weather it was about racing or life he was a great guy with good sound advice.

I’m sure there are a thousand stories like this one but…for those of you that may not have known Bob real well…

I can remember Bob coming up to me and asking if he could put Kathleen in one of his runabouts at a race. I said, absolutely. After Kathleen raced, he asked her, “did you like it”? She said, yes it was fun. He said, good I’ll have one at Burlington ready to race for you next year. I said, Bob we have not talked price. He responded as Bob did… Who cares let’s get her in a Racecraft and we’ll worry about the price later. The boat showed up at Burlington, painted, equipped and lettered in her grandpa’s number. I asked him what do I owe you and when he gave me the price I almost fell over. I said Bob that is way too cheap. He said, your family and that’s the price, now go let her have some fun.

Pop’s you are a great man and you will truly be missed.
"Ask anyone, I have no friends. I do have some people that put up with me and mostly because they like the rest of my family"

Is there anyone in our racing community that hasn't been touched or helped by Pop? That says what kind of man he was. I've had my fair share of Racecraft's, and like Donny said, money was an after thought with him, go race and we'll talk later. Like someone else said, you taught us well Pop, we will carry on what you have given us. Take care Pop, Greg Lyons

                            What a loss

There's just not any words that describe how I felt when I read this terrible news. Going to a Nationals just isn't going to be the same; still it may be comforting to know that Ponch will be watching us all from the best seat in the house.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Trolian Family.

                                Dang it anywayz

5 years ago I met Bob at my first race. Every race since, he'd always stop by me to shake my hand or ask me how I was doing.
Even when I was walking thru the pits, 30 feet away from him, He'd yell over "How you doing Kip" or "great race Kip"

I always thought; What a nice guy to always be saying hello to me, or even care how I was doing.
There aren't many others who do that sort of thing. Bob seemed very unjudgemental and caring.
Even if he didn't know you that well.

-RIP & Condol's to the Family.... Kip 69w (and Shelly)
