did ya burn your fingers on it?
No serial # = HOT! Course I have a boat trailer with no serial#, took off the sticker to paint the trailer and promptly lost it. Lost the title as well. No prob, trailer has permanent tags! Well, no prob until a cop asks me why I have an NC registered boat on a VA registered trailer being towed by an NC registered truck.carpetbagger

If it's an OMC, you should be able to look at the freeze plugs on the block assuming it is the factory block, and pull some numbers.
I've bought 2 engines new, had the papers, and when sold them, the tags had not been on the clamp bracket... Then I've bought used engines that the clamp bracket was changed for some reason, and the guy forgot to switch tags, so the model/serial is incorrect.....Just do your homework first.

Questioning My Integrity?
Steve is questioning a 302 I recently sold him. I obtained it from Pete Nydahl & he obtained it from Andrew Marquis who obtained it from a fella out of Pa. The fella from Pa. purchased it from the late Don Allen Sr.
Now Steve.... Darrell Sorenson states very few Yamatos have ID tags. As a matter a fact the other 302 in my shop does not have one nor do the
(3) 102s in the shop!
Kind of funny that it was brought to my attention that you would find something to complain about!Last edited by 17W; 11-27-2008, 02:30 PM.17W
