  • Need your prayers

Just a few words to let all my racing and non racing friends know what is going on in my life. My wife Pat has been diagnosed with abdominal (peritonial) mesothelioma. She had surgery just before the Pro Nats and this is the reason I was absent. Her surgery went well but the results of the pathology tests showed this disease. We are going to Cancer Care Centers of America in Tulsa the end of this month for more testing and treatment start up. I have no more medical info that I can give you at this time. She didn't work around asbestos anywhere, that we know for sure of an exposure, but she nevertheless has it. I will not be coming to any more races this year, so please keep her in your prayers
    Thank you

Thoughts and Prayers are with you David

                David,
I wondered why I did not see you at DePue, and now know that you were where you needed to be. I am very sorry to hear of Pat's illness, but am glad that you have shared with your friends the need of prayer.

You have many friends here David in boatracing and I for one have always enjoyed our time together and know that your needs have become ours.

Take care and prayers on their way!

                Ray

David--- Please look up Steve Talley when you are there at the Cancer Center in Tulsa. He works there and is a former boat racer and actually wanting to get back into racing next year. He comes from a long time family of boat racers. He will make sure your stay is the best it can be.

David, I am so sorry to hear the news of your wife' difficulty. As you may know, I've been out of the picture this season due to my wife's cancer returning after 25 years. I know what you are enduring and can only say hang in there and be strong. We all are praying for you both. Jack

You have my hope for a quick recovery for your wife. You may remember I bought the BU from you a few years back. Best regards.

                            So Sorry

                            Dave,
I never met Pat but I can't imagine what getting a diagnosis like that is like.
You guys are in my thoughts and prayers.

                              Thank you

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Jack, I am also sorry to hear of your wife's cancer. After 25 years it sure shows that once the doctor tells you you've got it, you never really feel like it isn't hovering around in the background just waiting for another chance at you. I know that Aug 18 made me a 5 yr survivor but it I still think about it, altho less now that she has it. Again I'll post more info when I have it. I will look up the fellow at Tulsa. It is always nice to know someone even if you don't.
                              Thanks again

P.S. My wife just told me I should correct the hospital name. It is Cancer Treatment Center of America not Cancer Care Center
