        Sunday Schedule - 12 Heats

Officially the first heat will begin "between 11:50 AM and 12:00 Noon" today.

        12 heats total.

Here's a Triple Crown quirk because of the joint sanction between APBA and CBF that was explained at the drivers meeting. In order to win a Triple Crown Championship (Worlds, APBA Summer Nationals, Canadian) you must be a registered member of both organizations. So if the first boat across the finish line is only a member of one organization, say CBF, they win the World Championship and the Canadian Championship. The next boat across the finish line that has membership in APBA is the APBA Summer Nationals Champion.

This will get a little confusing because if this happens, two boats winning the three championships will both be first place finishers and both must report immediately to inspection. And how would the second boat know to which organizations the first boat belonged? Everyone must not be registered with both organizations otherwise they wouldn't have even brought this point up.

Sounds like a lot of extra work for the inspectors.

                  Two Tangled

The white boat in the middle rode his sponson right up on the deck of the boat to his outside and right back down again as the A class boats approached the start line. Both boats kept going and started the race.

According to the 5 Litre qualifying chart I posted above, Kelly made the 8 boat final. Jimmy did not make it based on time if I understand the chart.

                        Paul Fitzgerald Sizzles in SS

(CORRECTED) Paul Fitzgerald, SS-24, takes the win in SS.

I was confused about this one. I thought the radio announcer kept saying Dale Hernandez was the winner and I thought SS-24 won the race so I thought Dale Hernandez was SS-24.

Bobby Kennedy Flies to Win 2.5 Litre Stock

Bobby Kennedy, S1, flying down the straightaway. After the race, Bobby told the radio announcer that he had just registered with CBF last night. That's cutting a Triple Crown Championship close!

                                All Heats Finished

All heats were run today and all champions have been declared pending inspection. But I have NEVER seen a storm come up so quickly. After the Grand Prix hydros finished the race course went from calm to whitecaps in seven minutes. I'll post some more racing pictures before packing up and heading home.
