1) The man waving his arms is Gary Pond, and he is doing so because he doesn't think that you can see him or hear him screaming over the sound of your mighty powahful motah (which is an utterly ridiculous concept).

2) Ryan is accepting the NBDA, or the National Best Dressed Award.

Laurie- Quite correct on both photos.

That is the one and only Gary Pond in the first pic, yes he is trying to yell over the sound of the engine- accept he was a little more excited than usual because it was Devin he was waving down at his first race in Tabor City. (Dad got so "excited" when we raced J that you actually could hear him over the motor. Dave- he was definitely trying to go to a yaaaard sale that day too

And yes Ryan Runne did receive the best dressed award- is he hot or what?

A question for inboarders. What is the purpose of the yellow warning/beacon light on top of the cab?

(And just to be clear, this is a legitimate question. I didn't Photoshop the light in, and it's not a patrol/safety boat behind the race boat. The light is attached to the boat -- it's in every photo.)
