If you run MOD, So or PRO vote for those candidtes that are most likely to have your interests as their primary concern. We constitute a majority of the membership, but do have a comparable level of control at the top (in my opinion). Only vote for those candidates that you truelly believe will represent your interest in racing and in the future governance of APBA. You do not have to use all the alloted votes and will improve the chances of your favorites by limiting your votes to those individuals only. Make sure that all your friends vote also. This is a critical time for APBA.
We all need to understand how this type ballot works. If you vote for someone who is not a Kneeldowner it is a vote against all the kneeldowners running. It's best not to vote for 5. If you don't know who the kneeldown guys are who will give us the leadership we need ASK!
I will vote mostly for outboarders. However, I will cast one vote for Mark Weber. Mark is a stong supporter of grass roots racing and entry level racing. He has been especially helpful with his support of "J" racing.
Laurie Allen, Don Allen Sr.'s wife, is running for Council-At-Large. So is Stan Fitts. Stan helped the drive to raise funds for the legal challenge to the Sea-Tac plan. He also agreed to serve as interim Chairman of the Offshore Category during the challenge and was sued in Florida for this. He's an old kneel-down runabout driver.
Don't forget either of them when voting for Council. Council serves as advisor to the BOD.
If you received your ballot, please take the time to vote. Your vote is more important this year than ever. Vote kneeldown. And also let's support Mark Weber for the BoD and Laurie Allen for Council at Large. They are two of kneeldown's biggest supporters and deserve our votes.
If you haven't received your ballot yet and some of you may not have, please call APBA at 586-773-9700 or email Gloria at gloria@apba-racing.com and ask her to send you out one.
Now is your chance to let your voice be heard. If you don't vote, you can't complain.
I'd like to bring up something Eddie said at the Nat's that I didn't know, you don't have to vote for the open number of spaces on the ballot. Meaning, only vote for the people you'd like to support, don't pick a fifth person you don't support just because there are five openings. Some of you might be saying 'duh' right now, but I'm not too familiar with this sort of thing and this mistake could give power to someone without our interests. Even if this only prevents one mistake then it was worth the post. Greg
There is more to this sport than kneelers. Vote for the over all good people. Not just one division this is whats wrong with us now all this infighting among all the classes. Hurt one class you hurt them all.

Just remember if you dont't vote.....you can't bit** later. If you want things to change then put people in place that can help make that happen. Apathy does not create change....VOTE NOW!

always voted for outboarders as they are the only boatracers I know--
last few years have been active in APBA got to know a few other racers from other catergories. There are some good people out there trying to get APBA back on the right path (seems that the legal fight between some people a few years ago set us back) so maybe its time to think about the vision some people have and not what they race. Desperatly need some new blood as it is a shame to see the way politics have been in recent years.
