Broke my shoulder in CSH at Tabor City and was glad to have Axis pick up what the primary carrier didn't - would be willing to pay a little more if necessary and am looking at short term disability insurance for this season-10 weeks without a paycheck sucked.

They said not a problem and I think they were hinting that just don't disclose any more than necessary. Anyway I would be interested in some kind of additional accident insurance that would cover anything not covered by my primary health insurance which is also debatable. What does everyone else do if anything? I am getting older and break a lot easier.

I always thought the point of insurance was to gamble you will need it, while the provider gambles you will not. Do you really want to gamble on a lose - lose bet?
Who said "don't worry about it" the underwriter? or the salesperson?

People "hate" HR because of the negativity. Some feel that strangers or others interested in our sport will click on this site and go WOW.. WHOA!!! because of various posts which make it sound like we are all at war with each other. Yeah.. the BOD or whoever, say they don't go on this site.... Yeah right!! Some do and some don't, you can bank on that. But, they just don't 'post' on HR.
There's lots of good stuff that gets surfaced here. Take it or leave it. There's nothing like a good ole 'hangar flying session' to air out things and also to get the facts out on the table where people can see em.
Meanwhile, the APBA social site is available for all to see. I'm glad of that, because there's always plenty of good stuff to read here on HR that isn't detrimental to our sport.

I'm pretty sure mine will too, I am with Anthem through Operating Engineers. I am retired but I am on my wife's insurance through her work. It is really good insurance, best they offer I believe. I would just like to have something that is aware of what we are doing and being covered for sure. Hospital bills could eat up what APBA offers in a day or two if serious enough. Another reason it doesn't both me too much to be racing ASR instead of CSR, don't go as fast.

Check out the Duck
Karl,
Take a look at Aflac's Accident Insurance coverage. My wife is an agent for them...signed me up for it last year, and 2 weeks after the coverage took effect I cut my head open on KB's CSH skid fin while rummaging around in the trailer. Went to urgent care, got 8 stitches....Aflac paid me $300, and when the bill came from the Doc it came to about $294. And this is money that comes direct to you, not to the doctor's office, etc. They also cover a certain amount of income replacement if you're off work for a while.
I think I pay $30 a month for it. Not a bad thing to have.
