    Positive

    Jeff,

Look at it as a positive. Every one wants to help you. This is good not bad. A new site, three sanctioning bodies excited to help - it don't get any better than that my friend. Why not follow the lead of what is being done in Pineville and have all three join forces again?

      My Reply

My reply to the post was not a bash against AOF, APBA, or anyone. I hate that no matter what is said it always turns into a bash fest. He said he needed a club to help put it on and I responded about the ODA. We are an NBRA club so I thought it would be appropriate to put that in my post. I am sorry I got everyone so upset I wish I would npt have posted now. I thought I was helping. I do not care who puts a race on. I have raced both NBRA and APBA for the last two years. I was not trying to start a political battle.

      Sorry I posted

I think your post was noble. Wanting to help is always a positive. I have added your Nationals to the Region 5 schedule. If any one up your way is interested in a FL vacation, bring the boats we have an awsome schedule put together this year.

This is to Ed. No Offense intended Ed I have asked about the cost for an apba site before. It was very clearly spelled out that i would need to have the local sponsors pick up approx. 5 g's in cost ( i requested the paper work and recieved it, it concures ) then i asked if apba had monies avalable to help start a new site. answer was ....NO i asked if APBA had publicity monies for stock and mod racing . answer was .....NO
( i am an apba member not AOF) Connie let me know what they could do to help get a site going after i vented my frustrations . she made it clear that they would help even if i intended to take it to the APBA after it was established. ie. the local sponsors felt they could justify the big price tag on a APBA race. Now suddenly the APBA does have funds that can be used ?....
IS this new?.... or were all those people that were trying to be helpful (AND I MEAN THAT) mistaken?
please people do not get offended. i believe everyone has the best intrest of boatracing in mind, we just have diff. opinions of what is best for boatracing

BTW before i forget i have spoken with people from 2 lakes in this area about APBA races too. I will not say where yet due to it being so up in the air. while the responses have been good. it is no where near a done deal.
once again the biggest hurdle is bucks
please Email me with the info on seed money Ed. both of these sites could be very nice. Kschertz@schertzsite.com

                    Keith,
Problem with your post is that you posted on the AOF Home page. Also, title of thread is about an AOF race. It was inappropriate to come to our homepage and to a thread that was clearly about an AOF race and try to sell - offer- whatever-an NBRA race. Hey, and I ran for president of NBRA!
You just should follow etiquette. And anyway, how do you know if we have a club in Illionois or not? I just started a new one, handles races in Illinos, Missouri and Rockaway Beach.
And by the way, I don't think Connie was inferring anything. She was pretty clear.

                        Keith,
You are welcome to post on our home page anytime you want. Let's all just help these guys put on a race. It would be best if we all just SHUT UP and SHOW UP at their race, no matter who puts it on. Maybe Ed can come through with some seed money. That would be super.
See you in Alex too. Kiss
                        Connie

                          7 & 7 on Ed

Connie: Calm down. I was just offering to help. Additionally, I even suggested that APBA might NOT be the best choice right out of the box but the three groups ought to get together and discuss which would be best.

Have a drink on me! I meant only to help, Ed.

                            Bad Word

Keith: You didn't ask me! I will do what ever I can to help you guys out to put on a race and get APBA members to show up. Additionally, I'm not sure where you got the numbers for cost. Sanction & Insurance with APBA is about half what you've indicated. This is not to say that it's cheap and the first time around, APBA may not be the ticket. I just wanted you to know that APBA can help.

I hope that all three organizations to work to help this local group put on a race that will bring new members to our ranks. That IS the "big picture". Ed

I stand corrected on the cost of a APBA race as i dug up the sponsor packet
although it is still rather expensive.
maybe Chenny's Grove Township Power Boat Racing Association can become a AOF club

Not to worry, father of my newest granddaughter....you have an excuse...no sleep. And second, you are grounded to diaper duty for 3 days, AND you do owe me a drink.
