I was wondering if the NBRA (Mod. 25 Hydro) is also allowed to run this class. The MAIN difference that I have noticed at our races between the classes other than the use of the Merc 30 in "C" and not in M25, is that a Mod Yamato can only run "C" if it has an expansion chamber. In Mod. 25 you can use an open bell style pipe exhaust. Which is what I run on ours... can we race it in the Special Event "C" Hydro next weekend?? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

C= Mod Hydro
I think some people may have the wrong idea. These classes are not a sanctioned NBRA events. No Sanction has been applied for from the NBRA, therefor no NBRA points will be awarded. These are special events that APBA has decided to run. So I would assume they will decide what runs in these classes. NBRA wants it to be clear, we in no way have anything official to do with this race. Good luck to the NBRA drivers.

Answerd my question.. so i guess we wont even thrash to have it running for this race. Would have been nice to have added another boat to that field.
What NBRA members are coming to this event anyways??John Mathews @ Mathews Racing L-390

John----I would talk to Ed Hearn and see what he thinks. The NBRA mod 25 and the C Mod run together very well. For a special event class, I can't see what problem would be created by running the mod 25 and C Mod together. As Art said there is no NBRA points so we are just out there having fun. I think APBA is just trying to get some NBRA guys to show up and race since it is in our backyard.

Good point. Would be a good race atmosphere to get things ready for the NBRA season as well. Hmm, maybe Mr. Ed will have a read at this and get back to us as to if he sees it fit to let the Mod. 25 run C Mod. for this event.
Mr. Rick, you going to be bringing the rest of the OK boys down here with you?? Will be good to see you guys again. Have to all meet up at Tunks one night for sure.John Mathews @ Mathews Racing L-390

Special Event C Hydro
Let me be clear: In this class, we will allow the use of all Yamato Engines in a stock configuration. This means, the 80, 102, 202 (yes: 202) and 302. The engine must meet APBA specs for these engines and must run at the APBA height for APBA's C Stock Hydro class.
We will use the engine specifications found on pages 33-42 of the 2009 APBA PRO Outboard Technical Manual. It can be found at http://www.portagebaysystems.com/pro...2003-05-09.pdf
Mod entries will generally be combined with Mod classes if any combining takes place. Stock entries will be generally combined with Stock classes, again, if combining takes place.14-H

Ed---I think the conversation started by John Matthews was under the assumption that the "C" hydro on the race circular was for mod. Looks like by your comments the "C" is for stock. Just wanted to make that clarification as it does not matter to me which one it is. Hopefully the NBRA guys looking to come to the race understand which one it is.
