thanks for the replies and please keep them coming. i intend to print out the replies and give them to dave for the meeting. that will show the ones in charge how much denton means to us as a race site.

now to get back to doing tax returns. can't see my desk quite yet.

alvin sanger gave me several pictures of racing on the eastern shore of maryland. included in them was a picture of the start of the ash elimination heat at the nationals held in cambridge md in 55 or 56. it's has 5 boats crossing the line. also have one of alvin and feby(dominic) holding some rock fish they caught in 1960. feby is holding a 31 pounder. they had a 68 pounder but neither could hold it up.

Ironically, I think I'm more excited about a possible Denton than our own races up here... If it goes off, I will be there. Pumped in Pa!

Denton update

hi everyone,

notice i used caps which i never do(like ee cummings for the english majors which i was not) so it must be important. here is the latest on denton......

the yacht club does not want to be involved in the race.... so i made a call to the tourism dept and spoke to the director. she's all for a race and put me on to the denton town administrator. he says and i quote " there should be a race in denton" he has put us(i hope it's going to be more than me) on the aganda for the march 7th town council meeting. dave augustine will be on a cruise but will give me the details as to what to present. i will also print out all the replies posted here to show the town council and the town of denton just what the race means to us. keep the replies coming. i see a lot of hits on the thread but would like to see more replies. i was very impressed with greg lyons post. thank you greag and all those who have posted here.

dave a and i will be talking before he leaves and i will send the town administrator a proposal so he can add it to the packet for discussion. he is for this race to happen!!!!
