If you are talking about "Stock Classic" that's a little different
    Sam,

Where do you get this crap from? just go to the got **** race and have fun. Dont you think they know what classes need cranes etc. check out there web site this is not a novice group these folks have been putting on Inboard races for years so they know the drill. How the hell can you speak for other racers and say what might be a burden for them?

By going to races and helping that's how.

Come on Dan, it hasn't been that long since you went to a race has it? You know very well how long a well attended Stock Mod PRO race is ... add something else to it and its even longer. Longer is a burden. Maybe you need to spend a whole day helping out on the judge's stand.

Side note: If you can provide a fresh water spray down area where motors and boats can be desalted each day, that would probably attract a few more racers. Most of us are accustomed to racing on freshwater; the fact that the race site is saltwater is a big drawback by itself.

Just trying to add constructive criticism to make this a great race, hope it is taken with the same view.

While they are at it why dont they provide free hotels rooms with turn down service at night along with free dinner and a show just wondering did you fall and bump your head last night?

Oh and can the spray down area be staffed by local day workers who will wax and shine each hull

I don't see anything constructive in that post

If you show up at this race on either day, you can drive one of my boats if both classes run. Might as well get one use out of your cut suit before it has to be recertified.

            Woahhhhhh!!!!!

Please pull in the reigns. We are making arrangements for fresh water wash down area and are planning for a seamless weekend. All we need is for racers to attend and work with us not against us. These races are also for spectators from the community and we all would like to Thank those people and communities with the best possible event.

Let's be realistic, we are all human and there may be a few bumps. But when has there been a race weekend that didn't? With cooperation everything smooths out!

The internet affords us the luxury of communicating with people sharing the same interests. It also opens us to praise or ridicule from our peers. When posting to a message board all types of personality are welcome to view and leave their comments, challenge what we say, agree, disagree, it is a free forum to express opinions.

Why do people have to be so mean on message boards? Behind the anonymity the internet provides there is a failure to recognize a real living person on the other side of a post. This is true for both the aggressor and the recipient. The following questions must also be asked. Is this person being mean because my post offended them? Who then is the aggressor? While it would be nice to live in an all accepting world, we don't. Many people think they are "THE" Expert, and many don't like something "because or because" I do not agree this justifies being mean. Responding, retaliating, or accepting this aggression it only fuels that fire. Best ignore or if possible have them blocked.

              * A special note should be made that there are some really mean people in the world. This includes those who have little regard for other peoples thoughts. Usually a coward hiding behind a false name, it gives them an opportunity to strike out in spite of their own self loathing. Held too much as a child, or not enough, they have failed to learn proper social skills. Some people are just mean, do what you can to ignore them.

There are no rules to keep people from acting before they think. An online world allows us to act with little or no consequence. Care should be taken when both posting and replying not to offend. Keep in mind not everyone is going to like what you have to say. Some may act out with harsh words and childish behaviour. Remain strong in your conviction and realize who the person is on the other side. More than likely it is someone who has little real bearing in your life.

                  April 6, Update Region 4

                  Howdy all,

Just wanted to post an update to the NE North Carolina Races. This is a heads up to all, Vintage, Inboard, Outboard, Js, Stock, Mod, Pro Hydro/Runabout.

Please take a few minutes and check the posted links. These links will bring you directly to the Carolina Cup Regatta Web Site and the individual events.

As of today, ALL Scheduled Events are still on the calendar for the posted dates. Manteo has been highly questioned and shunned by some but it is still one of our Major Projects. For some out there if you think about it seriously, being scheduled for the 26th & 27th of September this race could put you back in the points running, gain you positions, solidify your place standing on one hand. On the other with only one race after Manteo you could loose a lot by not coming. This should be a very enjoyable event.

Our Club meeting is scheduled tomorrow evening at 7pm in the Elizabeth City, NC Court House at 7pm. If you have any questions, Please contact Carolina Cup Regatta via our Web Site or you may contact me via my Club e-mail at

                  bobkaldahl@carolinacupregatta.com

See all links below for full Carolina Cup Regatta 2009 Schedule of planned events.

                  Thanks, Bob Kaldahl, Vice Commodore
