  • Hi Larry,

    Yah it sucks. I'm bummed.

We had been keeping a very close eye on things for a couple days now. This is a local race and we were expecting a light turnout. So manpower to help keep up with debris was a consideration. Then with the water not cresting until Saturday afternoon that could mean many delays for debris most of the day Saturday. Then Sunday the wind could reach 13 mph or higher from the SW wich is the only direction we are not protected. It's one thing to work your butt off and have fun. It's another to work your butt off, not have fun, and have a good possibility of damaging your boat or possible injury, plus have a financial loss for the club if we had to refund Sunday.

Just too many things all at once. And of course safety is always our #1 consideration.

    Paul
