  • Bob, haven`t seen you a the AOMCI meets since March, heard your busy racin. I finally got the 4 cyl. 105 Chrysler bolted up and on the Desilva. The boats runs good, and haven`t had any handling problems even though it weighs in at 257lbs. It is very stern heavy when the boat is just sitting in the water at rest with no one it it. Thing is I always thought the 4-60 and the inline 6 Merc that are run on these F boats were pretty heavy. Now I find out that they weigh about 135 lbs. almost 120lbs. lighter than my Chrysler. I get quite a bit of porpoising at mid range speed but then the boat lays down and is very smooth ans stable at speed, about 62mph. Do you think its safe. I have only really run it one time, since I had the prop reworked, and I ran it a little tucked under to avoid porpoising. I was going to call Ralph Desilva what he thinks but the boat seems strong and heavy enough for this motor. What do you think. Hope to see you at the next meet.
