D stock was rigged! I should have been there!

      Not a new venue

We have raced at Oshkosh on Labor day for 13 straight years. It's an open invitation for all stock and mod classes. Just bring your best propellor for a 3/8 mile course and have a ball. The 4 second starting chute is especially fun and the 75 yard run to the first turn will definitely get your blood pumping. I have attended for 12 of those years and I wouldn't think of missing it. Oh yeah, if DSH was rigged then how come Brent didn't win all three days so he could pad his national high points lead.

        tons o' fun

It really is a very unique course and makes for a great weekend. We get a good sized crowd both days and the viewing areas for the spectators are great. Oshkosh is the only real small course that "works", and by that I mean you can race hard for all three laps even though it gets rough, but it does not get bad rough - if that makes sense.

OMGosh were they fast! I didn't time them, but I darn near got whiplash sitting in the turn boat, snapping my head around to follow them around the course. Best seat in the house (and a great reason to volunteer for turn boat duty).

I'll try and post a video of at least one lap of a class tonight. Roughly 25/30 seconds lap for most classes.

Thank you Laurie and Michelle for, once again, posting the results so quickly! I really wish the other Regions would do the same.

From my memory it was about 1:30 for the heat time.

I would like to thanks everyone who showed up! Not just those who raced.

A special thanks goes out to Chief Scorer, Laurie Snyder, Inspector Cooper Jess, Race Director, Jon Evans, Risk Nazi Dan Evans, and Asst. Referee, Donny Allen.

The venue is unique as the pits are at the second turn and there is spectator viewing all the way arround to midway through the first turn. The action is always close and the start is more critical than anywhere else. Often there are many close races within each heat. Truly entertaining for the fans and racers.

An 8 hour drive for us and very worth it. (even at $4 a gallon) Super fun with great folks. Awesome way to close out a race season! Thanks for making everyone feel so welcome. Now off to Grass Lake again!!!

Joe Franck in the 36W boat had the fastest heat in DSH at 1minute 17.35 second - Sunday race - 2nd heat.
