September 1st cut-off
While the park area is owned by the Village of DePue , the lake itself is controlled by the Department of Natural Resources and they close the lake to racing on September 1st so as to not disrupt migrating waterfowl , so any race would have to be before that , and the site supervisor is very inflexible on this matter !!!!!!!!!!

reschedule
As long as it is rescheduled before September 1st there probably will not be a a problem - but after that date there is no chance. Maybe someone else can verify this but I think the Title Series a few years ago wanted to put a race there for one that was cancelled and was told the same thing. They wanted a Labor day weekend but it fell after the Sept. 1st date and got shut out. I would guess the last viable weekend this year would be August 27-29.

No Pictures
Sorry but I am on vacation so I dont have any pictures. The storms that occur in DePue do not have near the effect as storms that occur up north. The Illinois River is formed by other rivers - i.e. Kankakee , Des Plaines , Fox , Vermillion - just to name a few. Most of these rivers run thru the concrete suburbs of Chicago so they tend to have a greater affect on flooding downstream. Since Lake Depue is a backwater lake of the Illinois River , as the Illinois Floods so does Lake DePue. How fast the Illinois recedes depends on the Corps of Engineers , which controls the lock and dam system on the Illinois river.
