Well the wind blew, the skies were alternately dark and light, and the racing was hot, even if the weather was not.
As it was yesterday, the IOA in its 24 straight year at Huntington, a great day of racing was had. A number of races that were tied on points and were won on time had a reverse today. One such was the 350H class with Daniel Koshka, 09 National Champ, lost yesterday on time to Rick Miller, but today in the NAC's, Daniel reversed it as they were tied on points, but Daniel took the least amount of time for both heats. Congrats to you Daniel!!!

Rick Miller added to the 4 titles, not 3 that I thought he won yesterday with a win in one heat and a second to Ian Duggan in the second heat. Steve Wheeler joined the fray after missing yesterday an equated himself quite well.
Yesterday I commented on Braxton Miller being with Grandpa up in Michigan at the stock race, and mistakenly called him Rick Son, he is Rick's nephew. Did not hear how they did in Michigan.

Tom Sutherland made up for losing a blade in a heat of 250 yesterday, by taking two heat wins back to back today. Tom had speed on everyone as he started in the back of the pack in heat two and worked his way to the win overall. Debbie Stoner had taken the lead in the heat, but was DQ for changing lanes, or she would have had a great finish.

Daniel Koshka and Rick Miller were at again in the 500MH tied on points and again Daniel took the win based on time. Steve Bolhuis put together 2 good heats and took the over all third. This was just a hammer on one another class as both Rick and Daniel were never going to give a quarter, well maybe they could borrow David Verboort's quarter from yesterday.

Well Rick Miller was not done yet, thank you very much, as he took a first and second to Shawn Brill, unfortunately Shawn had a third in the first heat, so Rick wins this one points to add to the other hardware over the weekend.
That was number six for the weekend. Thanks for coming and making it an exciting weekend, although some drivers probably wished, no I know better than to think of you to stay home. Congrats Rick

As much as Josh Kimball put his stamp on the 850 class yesterday, John Palmquist did so today. Two heat wins in convincing fashion for John, coming from the middle of the pack for heat win number two. Josh had, shall we say, "the door slammed shut," by James Robertson, as James should have done, and Josh spun in the corner and took a slug of water and the motor died.

JJ Walls can only be driving home with a what if in his mind. He got started in the first heat of CRR, only to return to the pits and not being able to get out before the one minute time frame came up. His father Jay took home an easy win in the first heat, with the other 4 boats on the water fighting it out for second right to the checkered flag, with David Verboort, able to stay in the boat today, taking it.
In the second heat, it was all JJ as he finished well out front, and it will be interesting to see JJ in this class at Depue. They changed the boat from a roll up to a flat turner it seems to be working well.
Poppa Jay took it over all with a second in the 2nd heat, as all 7 boats started and finished, if you can believe that.

Mark Pugh put on a clinic in the first heat as a great start, great positioning in the corners led to a heat win from flag to flag.
