  • Oshkosh, WI September 5-6

The Great Wisconsin Short Course race weekend is on its way!!! September 5-6! The 2009 Oshkosh race posters are done and being put up in only the coolest places in the Oshkosh area!!!! This is only place on earth were DMH can run 13 sec laps!! They go so fast around the need extra carb shields to be protected from there own rooster tails on the next lap.
As always Friday the 4th is The Race Track resurface Party and sample 44W cooler day.
Come have a great time in Oshkosh WI Labor Day weekend.
Sat nite drivers party at Fred's

    Looks Good

Just surveyed the race course for "debris" and found it to be in excellent shape as of today. Looks like the city took care of the unwanted growth pretty well and if the weather doesn't get real hot the course will need only a little maintenance this year. More room in the milling area, etc!

This will be a good year for those of you who haven't been here to come enjoy the Best Little Race Course in Mid-America. ("Little" being the big word here.)

      Coming Home

Been going to Oshkosh every Labor Day weekend for a while to see this course and have to say amazing. Been following you guys since the 70's and now get a chance to race with you. Neenah is my home town and will have family and friends there to help. Let me know what time we can pit on Friday and help with clean up day. Will there be any testing?

        Fred:

Is the course in Oshkosh smaller than Marysville CA?

          Yes, I Think

Shorter than the old course around the island. Never seen Marysville without the island turn. Probably on a par with Sparks, NV, except there was more run from the last turn to the start at Sparks.

            Oshkosh Is Better, Though

Because there is a better run from the start to the first turn than Sparks.

              And Marysville

Because we start on the same side as the clock!

                Another reason

                Friday is my Birthday!

We, meaning the "local" club members should be there by 1pm for track maintenance and set-up. I Plan on working till noon. We have to get the club truck from Del's on the way. Plenty of pit space on a very dark and hard sandy beach, black top. Ideally we would like to get the course cleared and the judges stand and speakers all set Friday before dark. Pretty good fish fry near by to enjoy.

The extreme shoreline arround the bay measures 4/10 of a mile. Did this on my sled lasy year with a gps. That would also put you right next to the moored sailboats on the backstretch and to the docks in turn 2.
