Dear R10 racers (or anyone else thinking of attending),
Plans are shaping up nicely for SOA's newest race site, at Little American Lake, in Tillicum WA.
This is going to be a unique experience, since the event will take place "on post" within the boundaries of Joint Base Lewis McChord (known as Fort Lewis to Army Old Timers). This means that to gain entrance to the race site, you MUST receive a base pass in advance.
In order to get a base pass, I need your first and last name and date of birth to submit to Base Security for a background check SUBMITTED TO ME BY JUNE 10, 2012. If you don't send it to me, and apply for a base pass, you can't get in.
We are looking at doing an APBA Driving School in outboards for soldiers of JBLM's Wounded Warrior Transition Battallion (WTB), as well as members of JBLM's BOSS Group (Best Opportunities for Single Servicemen). We see this as a great opportunity to introduce our local military community to APBA racing...you never know where your new members are going to come from!
The race will take place July 13-14-15 with Driving School on Friday and racing on Sunday. If you're undecided as to whether you plan on attending, take a look at the attached pictures of the race site. It REALLY does look like this!
Hope to see you there,
Patrick Gleason R-19
