Numbers game
If you think SOA is mostly stock, that's probably because stock is the largest category in APBA!!! Numbers would say that most racers in region 10 outboards will then be stock. SOA has the second largest membership in APBA outboard. We are also known around the country for running our programs stock-mod-pro. We run everything and not all clubs will do that. We have never left a category off a sanction. So if you want to come race SOA, the invitation is always open, but you will probably watch a lot of racers with a yamato racing numerous times. Why? That's how you get on the water!!!! I can buy a $2000 motor. Have it always run (never break) and run it in 5-6 classes with only 2 boats (counting a hydro and runabout)! That's bang for your buck. That's fine and dandy if you want to run FEH. We have no problem with that. I love watching that class (and have run it once). There will always be a place for you to race. But when you say your going to come to a race, then back out at the last minute, after SOA went out on a limb and put FEH on a condenced schedule? There will probably be back lash. Personally i'm glad there was a class without you.
Also don't complain about where you live and driving. Most other racers in APBA drive twice your distance on a weekly basis.Just know APBA racing in WA will mostly be on the west side of the mountains, because thats where the people are and where we can draw the most racers. Moses lake is our only eastern washington race site for a reason these days.
