This site is called Hydroracer and speed has nothing to do with it. It is just that some folks in the class are scary!!!!

Agreed! It seems the good ole days of the big motors is going down hill. Sad for sure... as speed and noise gets the spectators. When was the last time you seen the crowd going nuts over a 5 boat c-stock field. Put a few F runabouts, or some triple digit laydowns out there with pipes and methanol in the air, and they fall over with their legs in the air

LOL. Not trying to be critical, but I speak in truth also. You can believe who you want, but please get the facts straight. With that said, with supposed interest from the region 10 FEH group...mostly a push from a Spokane racer to get the class on the schedule (who for whatever reason bailed out at the last minute)...the SOA board of directors agreed to race FEH at Inboard Lawrence this past weekend. Saturday we had 5 FEH hydros take the water - 3 FEH and 2 step-up (DMH) FEH...no Spokane area boats. I appreciate the fact that both Jon Peterson & John Biogio, who had Sunday commitments, made the trip to Lawrence for one day to help make a FEH class on Saturday. Thanks guys, you have to be happy with the results as you were both fast. Sunday, because of wind and water conditions none of the outboard classes (this includes FEH) raced and the inboards raced a shortened schedule as some of their classes scratched or didn't race also.

On another point, I'm shaking my head (probably just me) and wondering when the last time anyone from region 10 (APBA or wildcat club) saw 12 FEH on the water at the same time?

Let's be honest here. The economy, Mother Nature (weather/wind predicted for Sunday) + an inboard fatality on Saturday (2 racers scratched their 2nd heat & were not going to race Sunday) hurt our outboard numbers this past weekend at Inboard Lawrence.

The best laid plans sometime do not work and this is kind of how our outboard season has started in region 10. No one to blame, but one day of racing at Silver Lake, Eatonville, one day of racing selected classes at Inboard Lawrence and most recently the cancellation of Mossyrock (no fault of ours), what can you say? I'll be the first to admit, it has been a tough start to a season. But, I am a firm beleiver that SOA and region 10 will survive this. We are a tight knit group and, with the exception of a few, look for solutions to problems rather then be criticize from afar.

Looking forward to see everyone at Kitsap Lk, May 21-22.
                        Jim
