Get the ol' man to drive one boat out on a roof rack! Fly out after school on friday! You know you can do it! See ya in Detroit!

On a side note: would be fun to see some CMH's try for records...

      Time for phase 2

Okay, we have moved off of page one on hydroracer...people have had a few days to give their input on their choice of classes. So time to move on to phase two...what classes are the Board of Directors going to consider? Then on to phase three, February 8th, Board of Directors meeting and final decision.

Even though, as commodore, I am not a voting member, I will encourage the Board of Directors to look at (in no particular order) number of participants and classes with a chance of a record.

With that said, let me communicate a few of my thoughts and considerations.

      1) Not speaking for the SOA board of directors, but I have put my e-mail address out here on hydroracer (you can PM me also) and have yet to receive a message from anyone regarding this post.

      2) Our largest classes in Region 10 are the OMC-A/Mercury (JH,JR,AXH,AXR,K-Pro) & Yamato (20ssh,CSH,CSR,OSY-400) classes.

      2) I think arguably many of us believe that Lawrence Lake is the fastest water in the US. So, if we are looking at classes with the best chance of setting records maybe consider the following. If I am not mistaken, we have set 22 outboard records at Lawrence Lake over the last 5 years...AXH & JH 4 records each, OSY-400 (Peeters is stupid fast) & JH 3 records each, 20ssh & AXR 2 records each, and 1 record each for CMH, DSH, FER, & DMH.

      3) Long story short, Hydroracer is one of the sources SOA is using to communicate to the country and our membership, regarding Inboard Lawrence. So (again), if your class is interested in being included as one of the 6 selected outboard classes racing at Inboard Lawrence on April 9th & 10th, please e-mail one of the SOA board of directors or myself and indicate why your class should be included and how many boats we can anticipate attending.

We just want to put on a good show and potentially set lots of records.
      Jim

        My bad

Next time I make more than one point, I'll go with * rather than numbers.

Lawrence is all about records, and the ones with the best shot should run.

Remember, there is a record race the weekend before, why don't we just let the closest to a record at Silver Lake run at Lawrence. We could put all Stock, Mod and Pro on the circular and pick 3 out of the 6 classes on the schedule based on Silver Lake's results, already including JSH, a larger Yamato class and large OMC class.

Spoken like a man who has never chaired a race.....

Seriously, it would be cool to do that, but given that you have to have the scheduled classes listed on the race sanction, and the sanction has to be in 45 days before the event, that's probably not going to happen.

                    Feh

Can we be in the record books only getting one race in under apba for this race weekend? We r AOF guys... so we would only pay for a weekend thing. Stoneracing 1st & 2nd FE AOF 2010 points. I missed record by 2 tenths at lawrence a few years ago might take a stab at it again.
