    Fuel

Drums of methanol will not be available at the race site. If you do not have access to methanol, be prepared to buy, borrower and beg!!! It is the end of the season, so people with extra may be willing to sell some rather than hold it all winter. Kristi has a good source in the Fayeteville area that she can put you in contact with.

I can get a drum of Methanol for $120. I will be picking up a drum this week for one of the Florida teams. If anyone else needs one I need to know by Friday.

Ebos I am sure we can find you some fuel for 350. Many people will have extra they would be willing to sell including myself since we will not be running 125R.

        Price is Right

That is a good price for fuel.

Does the fuel stay okay over the winter ? I have some left over that I will not be using from a drum I purchased earlier this year. I think I have about a half drum. Can I use it next year ?

I know that it is important to keep is sealed tight to prevent water from being absorbed. I do not know if it is better to store in a metal drum (partially empty) or in cans that are full.

I have used fuel stored over the winter. Have to make sure no water gets in.

I have saved full tightly capped fuel with no problems.

And, one time I went testing in the spring with leftover fuel and when I poured it in the fuel tank it had so much water in it it looked like milk. It was the only fuel I had. I used it and the motor ran just fine. This was a long time ago because the motor was an alcohol burning Champion Hot Rod.

The fuel can will absorb moisture from the cement floor. Place something like a wood pallet or plywood under the can or drum.

Cement used to kill batteries, but about 15 years ago they changed the plastic that batteries are made of and it no longer happens.

I think the problem was that the old formula leached calcium from the cement into the plastic and basically shorted the battery out - but as I stated ... this will not happen with a battery made in recent times. A battery may discharge from sitting, but it should be rechargeable, unlike 30 years ago when it would be completely ruined.

Dampness--anytype is not good for fuel when opening a new drum is best to
completely store in can's that you overfill and seal tight as any space left will cause possible condensation in container winter or not.. Not my advice but the advice of the late Bill Fales founder of Powermist Fuels
