PRO drivers planning on attending both weekends, please respond if access to methanol at the Lake Wales regatta (the second weekend) would be helpful to you. We may be able to secure methanol for travelling teams, but need to get an estimate of how much fuel would be needed.

Please respond to me via e-mail dwedweaver@comcast.net

        Inverness Race is Coming Together

Five local Rotarian Clubs have pulled together to organize one of the biggest boat racing racing weekends held in Florida. With daily crowds of 10,000+ expected Saturday and Sunday the opening USTS event promises to be a big one. The clubs' efforts to organize a first class event are meeting with outstanding success. The weekend promises much for the boat racing teams and fans alike!! The USTS is very greatful to hospitatlity again extended this year by the City of Inverness.

Race Teams, please note that there will be an Italian dinner Saturday night at a location near the town square. The cost per person is only $7 for a complete meal!!

And do not forget that the following weekend will find us racing in beautiful Lake Wales, only a short drive away!! Back-to-Back weekends of some of the best Professional Racing Outbaord action in the country!! What a way to start the season.

Just as a reminder to teams attending Inverness, Lake Wales & Lakeland. The Lions Camp still has campsites & cabins available for all events before, during & after Lake Wales. If you need to test boats between races the camp has a launch area and it is free to teams staying at the camp. A $10 fee per boat, per day to all others not staying at the camp to test. We look forward to seeing you all in a few short weeks.

                OK,

We now have some teams interested in fuel. I need to hear from teams that may need a drum or part of drum delivered to Lake Wales. I must hear from you by Wednesday night. So far, I have heard from the Wrights, Gryz's and Pulie Bosnich. Any other takers? Please e-mail me asap.

                Thanks,

                  Memberships and Registration

                  Hi All,
it is Sat the 24th, only 1 week till race day. If you have sent an application for membership in the last couple of weeks and have not yet received your card, things have been hectic here, so I am processing everything today and will bring cards to Inverness. They will be at registration first thing Friday morning.

Shirley left the 12th so if you have registered on line since then, she may not have your registration, suggest you print it off and take with you.

Thanks and see you on Friday, Bev

                    Rvs In The Pits?

I haven't been to Inverness or Lake Wales. Are RVs permitted in the pits for the races?
Thanks in advance for the answer,

RV's are permitted in a designated area for both races. There is a $10 per day charge for Inverness....not sure if there is a charge for Lake Wales.

what is the dress code? Does one have to wear a team uniform and is something else appropriate acceptible (if one does not have team unforms yet)? Just curious, so I would not get "beached"........

The dress code is spelled out in the USTS Rules and Regulations which was updated this past fall and printed in the last Promtion. We are trying to promote professioanl looking teams that are identifiable to the crowd. If you do not have a team uniform we understand but a collared shirt with something racing on it would do. I am at work and the copy of the exact rule is in my home computer. I will be happy to pst it later on. We just dont want the "greasy t-shirt syndrome"
