Just back from the traditional USTS speed week of Constantine and the National Championships. The loss of Nic Davis weighs on all of us heavily. He was just a great guy.
Constantine was another solid racing event. Competition on the lake was intense for 2 straight days. With regards to the Nationals, I do not remember racing in such intense heat (uop to 110 on the index). People were literally dropping on the ground due to dehydration and fatigue (including racers).
Alexandria Race - The USTS board voted to cancel this event for 2006. An early "poll straw" of drivers and teams did not bode well for a good field of entries. Largest concerns seem to be distance/high price of gas for most racers and the anticiapted hot weather in August.
We will focus more of resources for the season finale in Raleigh.
