In just one month, the second USTS race of the year will take place over Memorial Day Weekend. Testing will open up the weekend on Friday, with racing Saturday and Sunday, with Monday being a travel day. This race follows a successful race with the Lake Alfred Lion's Club with over 80 entries.
If you have never been to Pleasant Prairie for a race, well worth coming out. It is a beautiful area with a great pit area, camping permitted, and a fun race course where you can let it hang out. No pleasure boats to be concerned about, so a great race course can be laid out. Just over the Wisconsin/Illinois line, it is just an off ramp off the freeway. Plenty of hotels and restaurants of many varieties to be had, and best yet, the Jelly Belly manufacturing facility and outlet store around the corner from the park.
A number of drivers will be looking to increase their point leads from Lake Alfred, including Tim Small, Amy and Kurt Nydahl, Dad Pete has about a 20 minute commute to the course, while Amy and Kurt coming from Georgia and Minnesota from respective schools to compete. Congrats to Amy as she will be graduating soon with a degree in logistics and has already signed on with a company in Georgia for employment. Think we might be paying heck to get that young dynamo back to the north to live. Cant say we blame her. Austin Van Over in the big 700R will also be looking to add to his point lead, along with young Bradley Dygert in the 125R who got the traditional dunking after his first win in the USTS.
Sue Sailer will be posting up on our registration online soon, which makes it really easy to take care of business early and just need to clear registration to get going for the weekend. Look forward to a great race and great summer of fun.
