A beautiful day for racing was had on the shores of the St Joseph River at Constantine today. As I have said before, it is a great race when everyone goes to the hotel or the camper after a full day of racing. No one got wet today, other then those who dove in behind someone and got a bath.
Great racing in almost every class with GJ and engine issues affecting a number of classes with the 3rd heat really determining the eventual winner
7 250R kicked off 43 entries for the day in the first heat of racing. Mike Krier led them up for the start, but unfortunately for him he jumped and Tim Small won the first heat with Paul Bosnich finishing 2nd, with Brian Payn having the exit pin of the first turn draped across the deck of his boat. Not a good sight, as he would have had a tough time convincing us that the it was not him.
Well it was not over yet, as Small who finished 3rd in the 2nd heat, found himself hustling down the front straight away, when the exit pin, jumped right out in front of his runabout for a DQ for him as in Brians position. Brian won a heat, Paul won heat, Tim won a heat. When all done Paul had a 125 point lead and the overall win to go home with.

Next up one hellacious 350H class with 9 of them hitting the first turn. It took 2 heat wins to take the title as Kurt Nydahl who jumped the gun in the first heat, was not to be denied as he was relentless in the 2nd and 3rd heats with wins in both. Nic Shakeshaft doing a great job on his starts finished just 50 points behind Kurtis for 2nd overall, with Ike Yoder picking up the 3rd overall. Amy, Kurts sister lead the first heat, only to have jumped the gun, and then to have an engine go south in another, and a win in the first heat.

In 125H, Jon Wienandt continues to improve with every race he runs and finished with 2 heat wins and in the 3rd, not letting anyone draw him up early for the start finished 2nd to Jake Quesse taking the win overall. Ray Hammond, also continuing to improve with every race put together enough points for the 2nd spot with Brent Simmons finishing 3rd.

The 9 500R rockets came up next with Andrew Thirlby not missing a beat with 3 heat wins, coming from about the 7th spot in the 3rd heat to take it all. Brennan Burkland, driving the 500R race of his life led 3 laps before Andrew caught him and finished a strong 2nd to Kurtis 3rd overall
