A great turnout of boats and a wonderful Friday test day crowd greeted the beautiful hills of Eastern Tennessee as the USTS final race of the year began to take shape. This beautiful part of the United States has breathtaking vistas and a beautiful site at Wing Deer Creek reservoir.
Our sponsors have gone all out for this final event as many of our classes still have to be decided in terms of the season long points title chase. a couple of classes are separate by only a few hundred points, which means the leaders are looking over their shoulders and know what they have to do to win it. What is really fun is the 125H with National Champion David Jones out in front of David Tenney by mere 127 points. Fun part of that chase is the two of them trailered together from Connecticut and David Jones drives Tenny's runabout in the 125R. Any worries there guys???? Long ride home for one of them.......
Our sponsors have it down to a science with help from the local Sheriff's and local police in terms of parking and security, along with the dive team on the water. We had over 1500 people at the lakeside enjoying some warm, but pleasant temperatures and some great testing on this "Johnsom City 1/2 mile on the water course. Should make for some interesting racing tomorrow.
A great party tonight at the East Coast Wings and Grille was held with Big Pal Motorsports and Prop Riders team put their boats and motors on display tonight with great food and wonderful time had by all. Thanks ECW&G, the Title Series appreciates it.
We will be reporting on this weekends event tomorrow night and probably on Monday during the day sometime. Thanks to Gavin, Brenda, MaryAnn and Bob Shively for all the support and help as we set up for this weekend.
