US Title Series had a race at Hammond Indiana this last week-end, it is the third time there. If you were there, you need to give a big “Thanks” to its organizer, our own Brad Barth. He has worked nearly single handedly over the last four years to pull these races off. From the original thought that a race could be run there, from taking photos of the site in the middle of winter, from laying the ground work with the city and park officials and all the follow-up meetings, getting the necessary permits, arranging for the rescue personnel – medical and drivers, arranging for pick-up boats, port-a-potties and food vendors, and all the follow-up meetings with the town officials.

What you may not know, on Sunday afternoon, with his driver suit on, ten minutes before he was to run in the 250cc Hydro class, his cell phone rang. They needed him at the chemical company he works for to solve a problem on a trial they where running on a new product. Brad ended up missing the first two heats of 250cc Hydro, he was at work.

There are very few actual workers out there. He is owed at the very least a “BIG THANK YOU” for all his hard work.

In his “free time” he also publishes the US Title Series’ Pro-Motion monthly magazine.

Here's to Brad

Have to second Bill's comments of appreciation. Brad (and his family) worked hard to get this race together and to keep it together. It was certainly interesting seeing Brad juggle work and race director responsibilites. He pulled both off, but at the cost of being able to run all the 250 heats.

Also, thanks to many others that stepped-up to help conduct this event. Bruce Summers for pulling the safety boat and equipment trailer. He has been a work horse all year and the USTS really appreciates all his efforts and sacrifice. Paulie and the DePue crew for their help. Mike Thirlby and crew for setting-up the race course. And all the others who helped set-up and tear down.

Speaking of the Barth's, Erin ran her last K PRO heats on Sunday. She and her brother Ryan battled deck to deck on Sunday, while chasing Kevin Ellison. Erin showed her little brother that he still has a thing or two learn.

Now the big question; Will mom allow a 125 in the trailer???

I want to thank Brad and the City of Hammond and all of you who volutneered with set up and tear down. Ray did an outstanding job announcing and we actually had a nice little crowd on Sunday. Thanks to the scorers who managed to hold on to all the equipment when the storm blew in on Saturday. Thanks to Paulie...I don't want to see the gas bill for all the use of your truck.
Thanks also to all the racers who tirelessly showed up so soon after 2 weeks on the road for "speed week". It was a great weekend and we are already planning for next year.
